Well after the dusty conditions at Takeover, I decided to snorkel the 500.
After watching an excellent series by @jay_man81 on snorkeling and venting I basically followed his snorkel plan with a few variations due to layout of my toolbox.
For some reason the link in P500 - Snorkeling and Venting doesn't work, but you can start watching his series here...

I cut OEM from the airbox in order to keep the resonators as in the video.
1-1/2" to 2" Fernco
(all following items are 2" SCH 40 PVC)
Straight 2-1/2"
Sweep 90
Street 45
Straight 4"
Sweep 90
Straight 7-5/8"
Sweep 22-1/2
Straight 13-3/8"
Sweep 90
Street 45
Straight 1/2" (holds nylon as a pre filter white ring in last photo)

Mocked up, marked and ready to glue
Snorkel 1
View from Fernco routed inside cage then back out to clear toolbox lid when opened
Snorkel 2
Ready for paint
Snorkel 3

Snorkel installed, seat back in place
Snorkel 4
Unpainted PVC retainer ring - holds knee high nylon prefilter

Nice I always intended to do this to my 700 to get the intake out out the dust but never got around to it.

Nice work, you'll be amazed how much cleaner your air filter stays.

I'm about to do this to mine, but I'm wondering since I have the rear Honda panel, if it would make any difference to run the intake into the inside of the cab above my head? Otherwise the rear panel would be in the way unless I cut it, which I'd rather not do.

The reason I ran mine inside was to keep the 48 inch truck toolbox as close to ROPS as possible otherwise I’d have run it outside. I don’t have a rear panel yet but if I get one I’ll deal with it then

I tried that for winter but it was WAY TOO LOUD. I actually ended up putting the stock one back on for winter...lol

I ran mine inside for the same reason. So i could have the toolbox as close as possible and just clear to fully open. Now that I've added the rear panel, I simply changed tips to a short 90 elbow that just barely clears the panel.

A 48" side mount truck took box with a Strongmade P500 rear rack slid under it.

Toolbox is Husky from Home Depot, I like the looks of the StrongMade basket but I opted for the Harbor Freight 2” hitch carrier, about $79. To fit under lip of toolbox I cut 3/4” off from each riser piece prior to assembly. Pickled aluminum and painted with truck bed spray paint which unfortunately isn’t holding up as good as I hoped.

I don't suppose you have a picture of it on the inside after the panel was installed do you?
