I'm getting ready to retire in 7 months. My wife thinks we should upgrade ( she calls it) to a 1000. My 700 -2 is a 2014 and there's a few things that I wish it had that the 1000s have. Power steering ,differential unlock bigger tires and 5 seat capability for the grandchildren. Those who have made the switch are you happy that you did and what are the negatives vrs the 700? Thanks

I bought a 700-4 and one year later sold it and bought the 1000-5. I think the 1000 is a lot better than the 700. Roomier, more power, power steering and most important is the low range. I live in Utah and hunt a lot, I had several times that I thought I would not make it out of steep canyons because the 700 did not have a lone range gear box and under powered.
I love mine.

Get the 1000 before you talk yourself out of it. Lol you just mention 3 things you want. If your wife thinks y'all should upgrade do it, she will be happy.

Im kinda waiting on the price release on the 2017. I'm kinda Gun shy because of the clutch issues I've been reading about and under seat heat problem. Hopefully the 2017 clutch issues will be fixed.

From the sounds of it they've done something with the clutches in the 17 models. I havent had a single hiccup out if mine in nearly a year though. I think that was mostly an early production issue

I seen the pricing was up on the 2017 models on the Honda website. I'm really interested in the 1000LE. List price is $21,599 for the 10005. I called my dealer and He said he will check into a price and get back to me next week. It's a lot of cash but it might be my last SxS. Not sure about the I 4D but I don't think I used my differential lock on my 700 but a couple of times and even than I probably didn't really need to. Might just have to be a Honda guinea pig

I had a 2014 700-4 for over a year put 1200 miles on it. Then traded on the 1000-5 in December 2016 now I have 1625 on my 1000-5 and would never go back to the 700-4. My wife likes it better because it didn't tear up the yard. I like it better because it's got more ground clearance more power pull more and go faster and 5 people can ride. Has better suspension and it fits in my garage.

I here ya. I don't mind my 700 but The 1000LE has the things I'm missing. The locked rear differential on the 700 I won't miss. I have a concrete driveway and every time I turn to park it I leave tire rubber al over the apron.
