I emailed Hi-Lifter about a big bore kit for the P5, maybe if more people show interest they start looking at it.

So much for that, I got a email back, they don't build big bore kits anymore.....any other ideas?

Someone on the 500 facebook page did a big bore...Search around over there. Also, think about a RUBICON big bore kit...

Any kit for a newer 500 Foreman should work. There basically the same engine. The 420 is as well just bored over a bit for the 500.

Well...legitimate question...but maybe he is limited to 50" trails or just needs a smaller machine?
Plus, the power-to-weight on the 700 is about the same as the 500, so not really gaining anything as far as performance outside of a bit more top speed.

We're not limited to 50" UP here but the size is conducive to some of the areas we ride & hunt. I like the physical size of the P5 and the "manual" trans but would like more power, if I can get the power up then I'd spend the $$ for the walker evans as well. If not I'll be looking at the new Can-Am 50" in the spring. Not interested in a 700 or 1000, if I wanted something that big I'd buy a Jeep

Got a message back from these guys, they have a kit, no specifics yet. Going to call them tomorrow.

Cool. I snagged that off of the thread on the P5 facebook page, one of the guys has that kit and an internal gear reduction. Once he has the locker I imagine it will be a pretty serious rig. If you install it, let us know your thoughts on gains.

I am wanting longer arms and a wider stance before I feel the need for more power...actually pondering building arms myself at some point.

AGREE ! When I started shopping in the dealer for my 1st sxs I was thinking 4 seater . Drove my Geo Tracker 4dr and the sxs was BIGGER than it ! Longer and higher ! So now I have 2 50" sxs s . Makes sense doesn't it ?

Exactly.... there's a couple Can Am X3 Max's that go by my place on the weekends & a local guy with a AC 700 4 seater, the wheel base on those things make my Tundra Crewmax look short....LOL

The new Can Am 50" looks cool BUT it's longer than my rzr 900 trail in which almost 1/2 the rear tire is hanging over the edge of tailgate when it's loaded in my truck so longer aint gonna do it . Then you still have the engine between the seats Can Am so you get the added noise / heat / and a pita to do maintenance on . Guess that's why 70% of my rides are on the PIONEER .

I think the new 50" Mav moves the engine to the rear. Other than it having a CVT it pretty much beats out P5's on every front. I can't fault it or anyone for getting one.
