what tire have decided on? Blackwater?
Yeah, I think so. The weight is reasonable and folks seem to really like them. Hoping to run across a sale, but not too optimistic . . .

always hear good things about themYeah, I think so. The weight is reasonable and folks seem to really like them. Hoping to run across a sale, but not too optimistic . . .
IMO it's the weight more than the diameter (to a point) that overloads the machine. The P5 is geared low enough to pull the 30's as long as the tire/wheel combo isn't too heavy.Getting antsy to get this this thing on the trails.
Remaining: Honda tray, Packout mounts, rear cubes, skid plate, nerf bars, tires/wheels. A few odds and ends . . .
Trying to decide between a true(ish) 28x10x14 or a short 30x10x14 (both sizes are available as a 12"). I will be at 60 or 61" wide. My heart wants the "30" (29+), but my head says 28s. If I end up not liking this tire, or the 28" size, I can put them on Critter with the SATV forward a-arms. So . . . ??

With your width on the long travel unit, I wouldn’t worry much about the stability.I figured the 28s would be more stable, but a short 30 may not make a significant difference.
Possibly 3/4" of extra height? (29.25-27.75)/2=0.75 inch. These are educated guesstimates.
Been going back and forth on this.

I went from 28s to 30s and did notice a little power difference. Might go back to 28s because of this but Ive only had them since last fall and haven’t had them for a true test yet. It does roll over logs and rocks easier though.seems like plenty of P1000 guys are doing well on 28s . . .
The P5 can run RRB on stock 24’s.seems like plenty of P1000 guys are doing well on 28s . . .
I have 28’s on mine and it does well for my usage.seems like plenty of P1000 guys are doing well on 28s . . .
In case you’re wondering…I plan on running the P1k5 on stock tires and rims as well. At least until they’re wore out or stop holding air.pass!![]()
You can row the ocean in a John boat also... but would you really want to?The P5 can run RRB on stock 24’s.
Nah, last time I went boating I lost all my firearms in a tragic accident. I decided boating is no longer for me. It seems it’s a relatively common occurrence. I don’t know why anyone risks it anymore. You can row the ocean in a John boat also... but you would you really want to?![]()
I think the usage of bigger tires is more for clearance sakes. I think everything gets to the point of diminishing returns at some pointseems like plenty of P1000 guys are doing well on 28s . . .
