Hey all,

Just curious to see how many miles you got out of your factory brake pads.

225 miles - Just had to change my fronts, pretty much metal on metal at this point and the piston over extended and stuck. Haven't checked the rears yet but I'm guessing they're not far behind.

Almost all my riding is in mud/sand/clay so no surprise the pads were toast so early.

Edit: Spelling

Pretty sure @William is our resident brake pad specialist. This will alert him to this post and maybe he'll chime in with his experience and expertise. ;)

As stated, the kind of use (mud, sand, hills [hard on them downhill], weight/braking, etc.) all continue heavily to brake life. I haven't changed brakes on a years, so I'm curious what aftermarket brake pad options are there out there in the market place?

I have volar sintered on now, barely any miles on them. As far as Kevlar, carbon, and organic pads, I will never buy another set... they don’t last in my kind of riding... the stock pads are good though, but expensive! I hope these volar sintered work good as they are almost half price of the race driven sintered... I have a set of race driven for spares right now... I always keep an extra set. Let me know the mileage you get out of your race driven, and I will see what I get from Volars. I bet they are near identical though... I’m trying brass pads if these two don’t work. From Swampdog Off-road.

Got my race driven pads the other day. They send a nice little package including a 12% off coupon for next purchase.
