Stock pads stop fine. I just want the pads to last like 300 miles. I doubt the pads will wear the disc out quicker... if it does oh well I’m just tired of changing pads every 150 miles...

I will say that I’m not putting sintered pads on the rear... I definitely don’t want to have to change that rotor...

lol. mud riding stock pads will last about 120-200 miles. ebc's will get you another 20 miles if your lucky. longest set iv had so far was about 400 miles on some brass ones. stock rear pad last about 3 or 4 changes on the front and stock rear has been the one that lasts the longest so far

lol. mud riding stock pads will last about 120-200 miles. ebc's will get you another 20 miles if your lucky. longest set iv had so far was about 400 miles on some brass ones. stock rear pad last about 3 or 4 changes on the front and stock rear has been the one that lasts the longest so far
Mine front pads lasted about 1300 miles. Now at 3300 miles still running the stock rear pads.

My p-500 is standard shift only. That might make a big difference.
big difference. on my 700 first ride i put 130 miles on it and the pads were bad. i didnt expect it to go that quick. but i ride in alot of gumbo grey and sand spots. but i also used the brakes alot.

I guess where you ride and how you ride it, really make a big difference.

Just had to change rear pads again. I bet I only had 50 miles on them. Volar cheap pads. I put race driven sintered on now at 267 miles we will see how they last. With over 100 miles on the race driven fronts, I don’t see much wear.

Just had to change rear pads again. I bet I only had 50 miles on them. Volar cheap pads. I put race driven sintered on now at 267 miles we will see how they last. With over 100 miles on the race driven fronts, I don’t see much wear.
I got 1500 miles out of my front pads. 3500 miles later still running original brakes on the rear.

648 miles on the original pads and they are still looking great.

Well.... I went to a camp work day and my front driver brakes were squealing all day. Looks like a rock got stuck in them and broke a chunk out of the pad material and messed up the backing plate. So I won’t be able to tell mileage on the race driven pads, bc im changing the fronts today. But they have probably 80% pad left... I will post the mileage later. Also I don’t think I like the race driven front pads, I don’t like the line cut in the center... It contributes to holding mud.

A thought I had... I think the reason my carbon volar rear pads only lasted 50 miles is because I put sintered pads on the front and sintered has less friction and stopping power. So the rears were doing more stopping. That would also explain why my factory rear ones only lasted 220 miles... So don’t mix pad materials. IMO of course...

Edit... looks like I’m completely backwards on this. Sintered has more stopping power and friction... so I don’t know...

Here are the race driven front sintered at 293 miles on the dash. So with138 Miles on them, and one hard hunting season, They still had about 70- 80 percent pad I’m guessing. So sintered will evidently last me a few hundred miles. FYI I now like volar sintered better. The cut in the pads for cleaning just doesn’t work...

had the same thing happen on the rear brake pad. stock one went like 1k miles. but front s were like every 100-200 miles. 300 if im lucky. ebc front and rears lasted shorter distance than the stockers. back was almost done at the same time as front. i was wondering about the fronts with these sintered pads. but at the same time i put portals on with very much larger rotor. i have some copper ones on now i think ol cheapo 19 buck ones up front and honda stocker on the back. and im at about 1k miles on rear and close to 400 on front right now.

I was told by an atv mechanic today that I better stop using sintered pads. He said they are really made for racing, where rotors are changed often... He said I should at the most use semi metallic... He seemed sharp... Back to the drawing board I guess.
