P1000 Camo Canuck Build

DrAgon submitted a new Garage Item:

Camo Canuck Build

It took a while but finished the initial weekend with my P1000-5. Only have about an hour riding and 30 hours of work into the unit so far.
When I picked the unit up from the dealer I had them install:
Glass Windshield
Roof
Heater
Winch
Blackwater Evo 28-11-14 on all four corners (fit without a lift and look great)

I spent the weekend building a custom skid plate, switch panel and installing lights, stereo and stealth snorkel. By far the best mod so far is the skid plate.

The two sheets and supplies was less than 600 Canadian. So about 15 USD lol

A trail armour skid with shipping and duties would be at least 1200 here. I paid about half and I'm pretty sure the one we built will hold up better.

Finally received the 15" Light Bar I ordered. Fit right where I wanted it to. Just need to get it wired in.

@DrAgon This thread should be a Garage Build page. Ask @Hondasxs to move it, as such.

Yours and my build are closely mirrored, but I haven't done the light bar or winch. See mine here (and check out what a build page offers)...

It's been a while since my last post, figured I would give a bit of an update. I had to go out and look at a job on good Friday, which was a good excuse to take the machine out for a good run. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, managed to put on about 50km, in more snow than I liked. The windshield and heater paid for themselves already. Two feet of fresh snow fell overnight, resulted in my first stuck.

As many of you have posted, I noticed the kids were complaining about the rear seatbelts digging in to their hips. I ordered a couple airplane seatbelts as a replacement until the kids grow.

The install was super easy, just removed the stock bolts and replaced with new 7/16" x 1" fine thread bolts and a nylock to make sure it doesn't loosen. The rear seats now fit a booster seat. Unfortunately the shoulder strap won't work until I put the original hardware back in, not a big deal for now considering my kids are too small for them.

been a while since I've posted. Finally added super atv a-arms after I "custom" bent the stock ones. A few hard trips and 1200 miles she hasn't let me down yet.
We also had to built a piece to join the skid plates together as the aluminum one I had put on originally broke. Countersunk a piece of aluminum in UHMW, hopefully holds up a bit better than the first one.

Have a ride planned next weekend and the weather isn't looking great. Since I don't use the front nets much when the weather is good, I took them to an upholstery place and had them replace the netting with clear vinyl window. It should help keep the heat in and wind out for colder riding. Hopefully they hold up!

Has anyone else noticed issues with the stock location of the fairlead? I decided to relocate it lower and put a tow point in the original location. Still have a bit of work to do this winter, I'm going to countersink the fairlead in the UHMW so it doesn't stick out and catch on things.
