Yes, rubber style rough texture, sprayed one coat let cure 72 hours, sprayed second coat, even covered up some of my not so pretty welds. Guy at store said just needed metal clean and roughed up so it would stick really well. Haven't had anything in it yet. But seems to be really hard.

I really like those rims. Can you share the make/style you using on the P500?

Ha, think those were my best deal yet. Seen a local add for Honda P700 rims and tires. Traded him a old Hoyt bow even for the set. Came from a 2017. Sold my factory 24" week later for same price I was asking for bow...

Finally got side truck box, used 2 in pvc pipe for needed spacer. Gained a hole to carry shovel. Used provided box legs for basket trim. Box at Lowes for $149 until 3/20/18. Never ends...

That flat OEM rack offers so many options, but heard many pass up the P500 because of the rack. Many good mod ideas throughout this forum. If theres a will, theres a way.. Had a barn bird start building a nest under my box today, guess he liked it too!

Great idea on cutting back the basket rail! May do the same now.

Just installed $79 cargo carrier (now 1/2 off at Northern Tool), left off the 2 inch receiver hitch piece. Thought I would have to cut the receiver bar off, but it was a bolt on. Good fit for rack, 49x22 1/2. Should be easier to wash off the mud than my wooden box.

You guys that have used the Harbor Freight/Northern Tool aluminum baskets... does it come assembled? It would work great for the roof of my Honda 700-4 if I could shave about 3 inches off the end before I put the end pieces on. Is the hardware already on the ends or do you attach them after the fact, as in after Ive cut a little length off? Is it that simple or would it be a little more intensive?

Basket is one piece, unused hitch tube is a separate bolt on. Corners joined with pop rivets and could be easy, but bottom frame might be more difficult. Heres a close up of bottom frame if it helps.

@LADucks , Mine is from Northern Tool, likely same, just measured total outside dimensions 49 1/2, W, 22 7/16 L and 8 tall. Bottom pieces are welded to perimeter frame. Disregard aluminum diamond plate support legs I repurposed for side trim. Followed forum rule “pics or it did not happen”. LOL. PS, like the dual rulers with metric for helpers not schooled in fractions.
