I have a continuous power solenoid that power my fuse block with key on power. It has worked just fine for 12+ months, but now it quit working. I have power going to from the battery and the factory fuse block but no power going out to my fuse block. I have tried a new solenoid but nothing so I’m to the point of thinking the solenoid is not bad. It grounds to itself so I don’t believe the ground is bad. Does anyone have any ideas of what I would check next?

Unfortunately it's hard to know without knowing your full system.

You can manually trigger the relay to rule it out.

What do you mean by "grounds to itself"?

What did you use as the ground point.

Maybe snap some pictures with explanations.

How do I manually trigger relay?

I numbered your pic.

Is post 3 grounded?

Apply 12v to post 2 to manually activate it IF post 3 is grounded.

X2. Ground post 3.

Do you have a multimeter to verify you don’t have a break in the wiring to post 2

Post 3 is not a ground. I tried that and nothing. If I bypass key on power from post 2 and put it directly on post 4 everything works. I’m assuming that defeats the purpose of the solenoid but not sure.

Post two has power when key is on

No my firend. That's not how it works.

Post 1 [or 4] connects to the battery.
Post 4 [or 1] connects to the fuse block.
Post 3 connects to a ground.
Post 2 is your key on source [or + low amp switch].

When you send power to post 2 it energizes the solenoid connecting post 1 and 4 as one.

Run a black small guage wire from post 3 to that screw on the right I see you are already using as a ground.

If the wire connected to post 2 has key-on power then it should work.

Unless you already fired the solinode!

Yep that’s not working so maybe the solenoid is friend. The odd thing is here this has been setup like I’m showing in my picture for over a year and has worked flawlessly.

Idk. That's how they are supposed to work.

Unhook and test it by hooking 2 and 3 directly to a battery + and -. Ex 2 to the + and 3 to the -.
If it clicks it should work. If not its fired.
If it does click, check continuity between post 1 and 4.

That's all I got for help on this.
Hope you figure it out.

Wire diagram attached.
You may notice post 2 and 3 are backwards yours. That's ok for most. But test it anyways. 814120e0883f2241aeb8a75c6b28bf7a

It's probably getting somewhat of a ground through the mounting bolt.

One last thing to try. Some of these solenoids are sensitive to orientation. Try turning it 180 degrees and reconnecting it.
