Have you ever looked at move bumpers?
Yes but didn’t want that for my truck plus I’d then have to run same aftermarket brand front bumper. Best IMO was FarFromStock stuff. All of those are very squared off and just look aftermarket. Plate steel welded together painted body color or black. I wanted stock looking smooth chrome bumpers. I’ve really decided to go for a clean factory built look. Just hated the big step bumper.

Not trying to work like this any longer, everything is wet and getting worse. First day without rain/snow I’ll get the new carport up.

Also going to get a bit more organized. Doubt this box will last longer then this build being in those conditions but hopefully. Did a side job this weekend so a couple goodies to help with the build.

Let us know what you think of the rolling tool box, I’ve been eyeing that exact one.

Couple guys at work have them and have been good, as good as the Blue Point that one has. I had the 4 drawer for years and it was ok, gave it away awhile back. These feel like better sliders and a little more sturdy. Not pulling my big box outside to the tent, hope this holds up.

Be interested to know how it’s doing in 6 months, seems like some stuff from HF isn’t bad and other stuff is junk, just never know but I’m addicted to the place for some reason.

Like said a couple guys use them daily at my body shop for awhile now, so far so good. Ya I love HF on some things, gotten pretty good at knowing what not to buy.
Years back I had full high end stuff I’d been collecting for years, still owed about 10k for some. Mainly SnapOn and Mac. I owned a body shop at the time and my partner drained the account and took off, hadn’t paid insurance and I was robbed. Assholes loaded a customer van and took off. I look at tools differently now, they just need to get the job done.

Nothing done on the truck but been busy making the garage useful. With the new tent I just replaced all the bent bars then put the new plastic directly over all the old stuff. Way better, it holds heat so well. Got a little more to go in the morning.
Got all the tools I could find from the avalanche inside all picked up, clean and put away in the new tent toolbox. In a much better mood about everything now.

Been busy with a lot of little stuff. The intercooler and a/c condenser I’d picked up awhile back were a little rough so I took them in and had pressure tested, glad I did as the condenser had a pinhole. Had that fixed and then cleaned up the fins a bit then media blasted the tanks and prepped them all up. A little paint and they look pretty good for 30yo parts.

Installed behind the new grill surround (replacement as the other new one was crushed during the tent collapse) they look pretty good. 4 new grill openings are in the way.

The b**** this weekend was the wire harness under the hood. Was rough from the donor truck and had several cut plugs. Located all and spliced in. Took crap wrapping off and rewrapped the harness. Being a gas truck and new fenders every mounting hole for the harness and all accessories were different so drilled new holes for everything and installed new relays then tightened everything down with new clips and bolts. Luckily I had my 2x4 diesel to copy for routing. Everything in like it should be from factory, had it been a diesel.

New high flow air filter, airbox, intake, intercooler lines all in. A/c lines, windshield washer, etc on passenger side is complete

You've been busy. Glad the tent collapse didn't get you down for too long.
Not going to say it was a good thing by any means but now with the double layering it heats so much more efficient and even. Nicer to work in now that I’m back going. Happy about that

One of my favorite new items is light. I did not f*** around with this as this will be a lifetime go anywhere pickup for us. I have aftermarket led housings in my other truck, they are miles better then stock halogens but being cheap Chinese lights the light isn’t focused perfect and gets flashed some on low.
Fast forward to this build. Researched a lot and believe this to be best available light possible. Expensive but good and American made.

JwSpeaker evo2 arrived tonight.
One problem I had with my other truck as well as the Pioneer is LED doesn’t create heat to melt snow from the lenses (kinda bad weather here sometimes lol) not a problem with these, they have a heat grid that that automatically turns on in cold temps.
They have black version as well but I wanted to stay more to the old school look that I loved all along.

can see heat grid in the lens.

Can see the cut off line is awesome, no more being flashed by oncoming traffic. This is low beam, high uses both low and high settings. Should be very bright

this was comparison with just the original version on low, new ones will be brighter! Very excited for these especially in poor weather

Tracking down upper radiator mounts proved a bit difficult then were expensive when located. Decided on a much cleaner look that also killed off the stupid rubber shield.
FarFromStock has been awesome, bought a high flow power steering pump and oil pump, as well as the hydro boost brakes to update the stopping power. Everything good quality and as been a pleasure to work with.
This’ll look much better then stock, have to do rework it some because of the massive radiator but I figured on that. Then paint.

Couple setbacks. First the radiator was close to fitting but just close. Spent a over a day fitting and cutting on radiator support then adding new steel. Probably 3 hrs in welding alone. Didn’t care it was going in but that proved difficult to hold 60% more fluid in front of the inline-6. Tractor engine in a pickup that wasn’t designed originally for it is tight lol. But she’s in with no more clearance issues and it’s back to factory looking, not all hacked up looking.

Fenders going on trying to button up the front. The new fenders are proving to be a b**** as well. Probably take rest of today and a few nights after work to get them in looking good. Gaps bother me and I want the body to be as good as the running gear so it’s taking a bit. Something as simple as the back edge of the fender not lining up will take a couple hours, gotta cut and splice from another fender.
Built not bought is proving to be a b**** on this one. But the build continues

And yet another supply of new gr8 bolts, nuts, washers and u bolts. Very few used bolts going into this truck.

Project is looking/coming along great CP!! Can't wait to se in person one day bud. Hellava build!!
Well a major reason this build has become so substantial is to go cross country comfortably. We don’t need this caliber truck to drive an hour any of the places we go locally. Cramped in our previous trucks for 24hr straight (especially with my daughter sitting sideways in back) just isn’t doable. I don’t want nor can afford a new truck so this is how I’ll get it done.
in all honesty I doubt I would’ve finally pulled the trigger had I not met all you guys. Got new trails to ride, beers to drink but most importantly people to see. This truck is being built because of the Hondasxs club.
