Got rid of the cassette player too, wtf?
Been quietly following this thread CP, doing a nice job!
Thank you Trig, means a lot coming from you. Cassette, lol. Hell she doesn’t even have CD player. Everything is on phone anyways. I almost went a tape cd combo 1.5 din from same era as they were Mitsubishi units and very good quality but just needed the Bluetooth.

Me too....makes me miss the 93 CTD I had 😢
Family all still misses our ‘92 ctd 4x4 and talked about it since we sold it. Ever since the original idea of doing the 4 door got much more real. Only things I didn’t like in that was the auto and the room. I like these trucks and so does wife, won’t be without till it’s forced with me kicking and screaming.

Dash is complete. It’s all cleaned up, wires ready to be run underneath the sound deadener and ready to start figuring out headliner and plastics. Will wait in flooring and glass till that’s done. Couple other things on list and get back under hood for a couple quick things.
Taking shape now, couldn’t deal with mess any longer. Found most of the tools and everything ready for next step.
Oh and just got the title back, everything clear and it’s correct🤗

Dash is done! Everything in, no clearance issues, felt rubber bumpers and double back all used to eliminate rattling down the road. Lots of sound deadening installed underneath. Everything works like it should.
RPM gauge will be ordered later and installed on steering column, but all other gauges in and working. Trans and rear diff sensors are in just need plugged in.
Installed new Nakamichi stereo, nothing fancy. Wanted a deck that kinda looked right for the interior, and volume knob easy. It does have Bluetooth and has Apple App for full control.
ran larger power wire to the heater as Dodge was too small gauge and fans don’t blow like they should. Also added much larger stereo power and ground straps for the additional power needed. All new larger speaker wires ran for all 4 doors. Trigger wire, two sets of rca and power wire ran for the sub amp later. Also power, key switch and interior light ran for the center console, it’ll have lighting inside and usb charging.
Been busy, finally seeing progress.

What VIN # do you use for a custom truck built from a couple or more?

Vin is from the 1993 1ton dually 4x4 truck I pulled axles dash from. Not much left that’s hasn’t been replaced with new though. True farm truck that was.

I've got a lot of questions about your build, when I get to met you in person.

Busy night. What hasn’t been done is being done. Not only will this truck have a headliner which the older 4-doors didn’t have but it’ll have a real Dodge headliner that screws in just like the 1993 2 door had. So that’ll be updated to look correct as everything else will be too. Took 2 reg cab and an extended cab headliner to get her done.

front section was cut along the edge of a ridge that ran across,

the mid section had to be spliced on that ridge all the way across

then rear section had to be spliced in to get the curve of the roof correctly. Sides are curved down from the top but also curve from front to back. I cut it the other side of the interior light that’s being moved, not exactly optional spot in the newly created 4-door headliner

A little itchy and scratchy after grinding the old glue and foam off, got most off I’ll clean up the rest in a bit. New headliner won’t stick with it still on. That sucked!
Anyways trimmed everything and test fit multiple times (pain in ass by myself) then trimmed the curves down at angle for strength. A two part urethane was used.
Really tough getting it all done with the roof curved both ways as well as that damn rib that sticks down all the way across the front seats.

all sitting in flush to the roof. Nothing holding the center, just tape on the sides.
looks rough right now but it fits so continuing on. No bad for tonight’s after hours project I’m very happy it’s working

I’ll grind a bit and respread the seams then take it out and spread the backside for good measure. With that rib by front seats it’ll add strength.
Here’s grinding that crap. Just used my ol Ridgid cordless because it’s easy one hand operation and used a flap disk with 80grit.

Couple small things to add.
First is the last thing under the hood, since my ac came from a non-intercooled truck and condenser was made to go in front of radiator, mine now goes in front of intercooler 3 inches forward of that
Right one bolts to the pump a little different so simply extended the lines. Cleaned up and picked up ALL new gaskets for the ac system.

Second, finished up the the headliner. Got all the bodywork done to the island (first time doing bodywork to a headliner lol) then was pulled out to reinforce the underside. Most susceptible it has or will be is now but pulled out by myself so seems solid. Have to put on roof to do that work as there’s not enough room in the tent. Man these conditions are getting f***ing old. Interior roof is back to bare for a minute.

And last, all my driveline measurements are in a shop for all 3 custom done. Was told best to start with original center driveline which I don’t have so it’s on the way.

Another long night. Started by reinforcing the underside of the headliner after installing new mount for front light. Extra cab has one interior light towards the rear so I cut hole and fixed in the bump down for the light mount. Regular cab has one in the very back only, so I installed that as well. So both lights that come in different models are installed.

Then sanded down the inside and spread a smoothie coat and rounded all edges.
Ground off the rest of the old headliners and glue. Reinforced the area infront of the sun visor holes for good measure. It was now ready for new material.

Three headliners just became one officially!! A crew cab with a real Dodge headliner. Should look factory with both interior lights and much better inside.
Didn’t get pics of installing the headliner material, had 15 minutes to spray both headliner and material with 3m super77 and press down material. It’s I b**** using contact glue, wife and daughter held it slightly above and I pushed down material. Chose some good material that’s much thicker the original and darker so it doesn’t stain as bad.
Beat and I’ve got a job getting the plastic trim in yet. So just sitting there for now. But it’s in!!

it’s ready for install. Between the material and the glue in it 130$ and a couple days after work. Good enough
