Update, it’s been awhile but still chugging along. Trying to get this thing usable by Xmas (only 6mo build on a very limited budget without borrowing a dime is tough for me) and done by April so we can take the new truck to Tennessee for this thing called the Takeover.

All those side jobs and starting to sell parts from the donor rigs is paying off. Still a lot of parts to sell so it’s looking great.
Engine was fully rebuilt 2 years ago (needs to be cleaned up some) but already has heavy duty valve springs, new head, main, pistons, bearings, etc. but going to receive new water pump, oil pump, thermostat, all gaskets, power steering pump, vacuum pump, rebuilt second gen turbo, hoses, clamps, and belt. It’s all sitting here and all factory Cummins stuff. Why not make it last another 30 years?
Transmission as posted is a fresh rebuilt nv4500 with all the fixes and heavy duty stuff. I found a factory slave cylinder complete setup for 2nd gen and it’s ordered. New factory clutch fork and spring along with a heavy duty South Bend clutch, throw out, and pressure plate is here. Factory bell house and adapter plate ready to go.
Transfer case has proved to be tough because most conversions, many rock crawlers and even just people looking to upgrade there stuff use the 205 from the Dodge diesel and the manual version (that’s built more solid because it doesn’t have the slosh box auto attached) is even tougher. Tomorrow offering one but it’ll takes week to build. Also ordered direct bolt in kit from Advance Adapter. Got the right trans cross member and and mount already here.
Carrier bearing and all u joints are coming Spicer Extremes.
Intercooler is here but need new boots yet, 3200 gov spring here.
Quick ratio Red Head steering box, Borgeson telescopic steering shaft and full kit are here. Bilstien shocks coming.
Think that’s the full list of s*** either in the driveway or in the way.
Much more soon but knocked out most of it!

Couple pics from today.
Engine is out of the donor, obviously a 12valve so took only hour to pull but moving on a Harbor Fright cherry picker across sand, gravel and dirt proved tough. Used the Wolverine to tow the engine on the hoist. Man wish had the convenience of a shop, the Wolverine belt didn’t like the sand with probably 1500 pounds of American steel dragging lol. My oldest was a huge asset, he sure knows Cummins!

HVAC unit has new heater core and all new vacuum actuators. Cleaned out the inside and bolted in. @Smitty335 you asked about sound deadening? Well the factory Cummins stuff is in the the old school cab. Double layer where I could as seen in the pictures. Will be adding a ton more and also Q-pads in doors, expanding foam in posts and double isolation on the floor. It’s already completely undercoated underneath.

You may have included this in gaskets, but I would recommend replacing the lifter cover/side cover gasket on driver's side. I had quite a few of those leaking in my time!

Yes got the tappet cover gasket. That one sucks to change being under the pump.
Today went well, sold the old automatic transfer case and the grill from the ‘91so ordered up something else. Setup is from FarFromStock that builds awesome first gen stuff. It’s got adjustable peddle and adjustable proportioning valve. Wasn’t putting that old crap back in.
Mamma now has brakes!!!

Well the engine is all resealed up, no leaks for a long time. All new gaskets as well as Cummins water pump. Added a water separator with a drain. Oldest son came over to lend a hand. Engine is ready to go. Cleaned up a little but it’s a 12valve, it’s supposed to be ugly lol.
The trans adapter plate I bought was marked wrong (it’s a 3rd gen) and will not work otherwise trans would be loaded and bolted up. Real bummer I was planning on having it in the new truck. Kinda pissed actually, I’m sick of delays.
As can see in the pic the killer dowel pin fix is in.

Good job, it's a lot easier to put that belt on with the engine out of the truck, especially on a 6.7!:D Hopefully y'all are mostly smoke free, it would be hard to breathe with the smoke very thick.

Smoke isn’t bad😗 Nice sunny day here, see that red dot? It’s the sun. Worked all day in it and just getting back parts store now to put in another full day. Guess it’s like sitting around one of our campfires lol. Gotta keep going on days I have time.

If the smoke isn't too bad I guess it would keep the sun beam heat down some.

Was supposed to be 90 today, it’s only 53 right now. A bit cold after all the heat but doable. Gotta lay under two of the trucks to swap out rear axles so I’m glad get to wear a coat.
