ok guys I got a leaky front cv boot. the one close to the differential. that's called the inner cv boot correct? I have never had to replace a cv boot so....what does it require to remove and do I have to replace both cv boots?any special tools required? I putting up some pictures I dont see a hole but grease does seep out. also found this cv boot replacement on Amazon anyone have experience with these. thanks In advance. @joeymt33 video above where he shows you how to do the bands. If you buy the factory boots they come as a kit with both pair in the kits along with grease and new bands. If you take to a honda place to fix don't expect them to have the boots instock.

It’s a whole lot easier just to cut the band and install a new one. but if you have to remove one of the old bands and save it you can give it a shot.

You do need to pull the boot off and remove the axle shaft from the CV to change the boot.

Well mine decided to sling some grease this evening. Best i can tell there is no tear in the boot but it has slid out of the clamp just enough when hot to push out the grease.

That's what mine did. I was flying and boom smoke! Thought I blew the motor for a sec. Cv grease on exhaust. Once off I found a tiny pinhole.

I though it had slipped off the clamp enough to let grease come out but....kinda far from the clamp. I am thinking I have a pin hole. so....
is this the inner boot? I know it's a dumb question but got to ask? also clamps do they use a special tool. I have a otinker clamp tool. and do I have to replace both boots or can I just replace that one. never have had to replace a cv boot but I can imagine a stick found a way to puncture it before I got a arm guards. rode threw a clear cut several times.

I think this tool will remove and apply the Honda type click clamps, but I am not 100%

I have just butchered the old clamp and poorly attempted to crimp / click on a new one with pliers and vise grips. I should have just spent the $14.

done that before on my can am Outlander. they use otinker clamps everywhere. tried clamping one with out proper tool. bad ideal. lol. I think I will end up going with the all balls cv boot from rocky mt atv. and get that $9 tool along with it. I know it's a small hole but I surely dont want to thrash a cv joint. lol I drive it like I stole it so.....
