P1000 Dash Light for Factory Switches

I installed a simple LED light above the middle factory switch, so I could find the darn things in the dark. It’s similar to what modern cars do, single LED shining from above to dimly light an area. This will make it easier to find the switches on night rides.

Did You tie into your headlights so this light only comes on when You need light... or is it on all the time? I'm trying to figure out how to do this, with the light(s) tied to turning on headlights......?

Such a tiny draw, I just have it on all the time (ACC Power). This also has the advantage of I can always find the dome light switch

Indirect panel lighting is often used in aircraft - well, at least for older instruments that don't have internal lighting. They are referred to as panel lights ot post lights. Here's an example that provides indirect lighting and should work well:

Great Idea! But if you want to turn off the led you could try this.
I had one of theses lighted rocker switches left over from a wiring harness.

If you use this as the light you can turn if off by flipping the switch off.

I used rock lights, switch and dimmer. One in the front center and two at the b pilers.

I went this route.... the red directional light up high on the dash is a "key on" light so can see the OEM light switch and tell what gear / drive i'm in.. (red, easier on eyes, and put a little cap on the end to keep from direct light to driver), and 2nd picture shows when headlights are on - the red LED strip lights up to see all the other switches - as well as the glovebox light.
