As title says, my 1000 is eating the front tires. I used the string method to get an idea where the alignment was. Passenger side was toed out about 3/8 - 1/2". Adjusted it to where it now has a slight toe in, drivers tire is parallel with back tire. Didn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas?

It's a good idea to check the alignment several times in the first 1000 miles as the front springs settle. You'll probably find it needs a bit of adjustment each time

Yep. It seems most or all P1Ks come from the factory this way. Some theories suggest that Honda does this by design to make the machine more forgiving against rollovers when making aggressive turns. After mine ate my front tires in a matter of hours, I aligned it using the string method with a 1/8" toe in on each side (front centerline of front tires measures 1/4" less than rear centerline of front tires), replaced the front tires and I've got about 6,000 all asphalt miles on my Tusk Terrabites with a couple thousand miles left in 'em.

P.S. I noticed no difference in handling characteristics after I made my adjustments either. It just makes the tires last as they should.

I'm thinking about going with the Terrabites. Less than 10,000 miles of tread life is a little concerning though. What size are you running?

Fit's stock wheels? Are they any taller? I'm wanting to lower my rpm's at higher speeds. I'll be driving a lot on pavement.

I had to buy 15in rims but I have less than $500 for rims and tires. I'm running Forceum light truck mud tire they look to be 29in tall they are smooth i would recommend getting them balanced at 50-53 i get a vibration it goes away at 55mph and faster. The price has went up on my setup you can get my tires and rims for $500

Did you ever check the alignment? Odds are it is visibly toe out. I know its easy to blame the dealer but in the end you own the machine and doing a simple walk around inspection before riding should have shown you the alignment was way off

According to the string method it is not toed out. And where did I blame the "dealer?" I bought the machine used. Perhaps you should have read the first post in this thread.

I don't recall. I adjusted the front to the measurements above. I have SATV arms for the front. After installing them, I'm going to install new wheels and tires and have it machine aligned. I think I read somewhere it should have a 1 degree negative camber with 1/4 to 3/8 toe in. Is that correct?
