I got a EMP windshield wiper for my birthday. What is the best location to mount it and are there any tips for drilling through the windshield.

I have a fold down windshield so i mounted mine in the lower fixed section. Works great and no complaints. I started out with a small drill bit and then worked my way up to the correct size.

Did you drill in the center or more towards the drivers side

I did mine in front of the steering wheel. The wiper is straight up and down when it gets to the left A pillar. This gives best view for driver, if you want best view for driver and passenger then i would move it closer to the center. before drilling the hole just experiment with the wiper arm to find where you want it.

can you still fold the windshield down with the wiper attached? I still haven't gotten the nerve to drill a hole in it yet.

Yes, no problem just move the blade down to the lower section and fold it down.

It is a heavy duty automotive style wiper that has a knob on the inside that you use to manually wipe the windshield. Works great and is very well made. Just have to drill a 3/8 hole through windshield.

Nice little setup. I run two on our machine and have had good luck. Swapped the blades out for a little larger better quality blades.

I was looking at them a while back. They are supposed to come with a resting bracket for the blade, which just looks like a piece of angle, that also bolts through your shield. Read where some had to request that piece in order to receive them with their order. I'm curious if the blade just hangs or bounces around for those that don't have one?

Mine stay put but they are at top edge of windshield against the rubber. They didn’t come with resting brackets but tension can be increased by tightening up the nut in either side to bring wiper closer to the windscreen

Hay CP, I just ordered 2 for my P1K5. Can you post a pic of where exactly you mounted yours on the windshield? Thanks bud.

This is the clearest picture I could find. Still running these on the new rig but it’s up the street.

Sweet! That’s bud. I’m excited for these. Should make the ride through the muck much more tolerable.
Ya buddy you’ll have good luck with them. Change out the blades for use on glass. Mine were for acrylic and I wasn’t happy with the performance. They’ve saved our asses a time or two, before we just had a squeegee. Didn’t want electric wipers especially up high with the weight

Exactly what I was thinking with the electric. Funny...we have a squeegee also! What a pain in the boody that is! Especially when the wife is 5’ nothin and can’t reach the windshield if your in a hurry lol

That is some Pioneer porn right there !

Does your new rig look pretty much the same as this pic ?
Thanks Choog. Nope, she’s naked. After building three Pioneers up in such a short time I literally spent only the first day I owned this working on it. Tired and want to ride but It’ll get there.
