P1000 Gun Cases?

I'm looking to add a soft side gun case to the new 1000.

I purchased a QuadBoss single case when I picked up the sxs, but the AR will barely fit, and it's a single case. Going to return it, and look for a double gun case, one big enough to hold the AR with scope. Cabela's has one that looks pretty good, but not in stock at our "local" store. Can do free shipping to the store, but want to look at it first....

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Have an HK style PTR 91 308 with 3x12 scope, almost impossible to find rifle mount big enough to accommodate inside 1000 deluxe. Decided to mount vertically on floor next to me . Just need to cushion butt stock enough for trail riding. Top of gun support is mounted in dash. Makes for quick access when big game or coyotes spotted .

Which brand of mount did you buy? Or did you fab one up yourself? While I like the protection the soft case provides hanging from the back of the seat, I see a huge advantage to having the weapon accessible from the front seat, especially on coyotes and hogs....and other opportunistic game!

Cabelas bargain basement has a single swiveled v shaped grip that can be mounted in dash for about $25. Then I installed a plastic storage container from one of my steelhead jet boats, mounted it on the floor under the cabelas mount, glued some protective foam in it and viola, combat ready. Also mounted regular hard plastic rifle case , behind drivers seat for bolt action rifle, use hand loaded 270 for deer most times. Easily accessible by opening soft rear door hatch and pulling it out. Hope that helps. Happy hunting trails.

Cabelas bargain basement has a single swiveled v shaped grip that can be mounted in dash for about $25. Then I installed a plastic storage container from one of my steelhead jet boats, mounted it on the floor under the cabelas mount, glued some protective foam in it and viola, combat ready.

Do you have a picture of the rack? I have an idea of what you're talking about on the storage container, but I also know nothing substitutes for a visual...

The top mount support is kolpin rhino grip xl gun mount. Bottom support is any reinforced foam butt support screwed into floor.

This would have been my second choice, was not shure if my 308 Ptr would fit? The scope is large. This forum is addictive, fishing is slow now, rivers in northwest are flooded, hunting is off season, getting ready for cross country rv trip to key west (concerned about weather)?? Anyway really enjoy you all

Shoot, if you come thru Arkansas, give me a shout. I don't have a motorhome, but have been up in the PNW on the R1200GSA. Long story on that one, but Portland BMW rocks if you break down on the PCH....

Anyway, have a 100 acres you can camp on, as long as you are self contained....no electricity or running water, yet....

Wow, might have to look you up, thanks. Yea fully contained, ram 3500 4 x 4 on duallys with eagle cap, 3 slide out camper on top. Can go anywhere. Will be heading over low on hwy 10 to get there. Definitely stopping at Hawks crawfish restaurant in Louisiana on way. Will pig out. Still working on other never seen stops. Just retired due to injuries from construction, getting better and wife and I , having taken care of my parents with Atzheimers over years need to enjoy what we still can. Probably boring people, so enjoy family, hunting, fishing, camping and Happy Trails

That Alzheimer's is some mean stuff, sorry about that for you. The land we have is about ten miles north of Ozark, AR, has views that you wouldn't believe, can see at least 40 miles. Good BBQ in Ozark, wine tasting in Altus, and lots of outdoor rec. Not sure what time of year you are coming thru, but heat and humidity are right around the corner. Course you will get your fair share of that in LA and Key West....

Just an update on newest accessories to my p1k deluxe, finally got my 308 ptr HK installed ready for Zombie attack or next big game hunting trip, also view or my cabelas Boss amplified speakers in rear. Front picture of dash with XM radio tuner, holder for Smart phone, rear storage area with cargo box, fit perfectly on side, amazing storage area and lockable. Other stuff also, took out middle seat belt, will not need it , more room for wife or passenger in front while hunting in comfort. Love it so far.

Still thinking about the design of everything I want to do, then waiting on funds from the CFO. She goes back to work today after being on medical leave for a foot surgery, so I will be essentially un-supervised again. I see trouble brewing....

finally was able to download pics of base area. Basically anything that will work, screwed it to floor with foam inserts to cushion stock. Very solid due to Kolpin upper mount holding barrel. Watch out next Zombie attack, couple clips of 20 rounds, 308 should ward them off

That looks nice. I have always wanted an HK 91 or variant ever since I was a teen when I got to hold a real battle tested G3 at a gun show. Nice, nice rifles and mags were cheap!

Thanks, its a PTR 91 made in USA, 308 with 3-12 scope. Was hard to find soft case big enough to transport it around but found one at Cabelas. Like yours, has many magazine pouches, etc. This will be my new rifle for big Bucks and legal Bulls. Much faster to reload than my 270 bolt action. The bigger ones are harder to bring down and usually on the run while you fumble to get that second cartridge in chamber. Check out CDNN website , they have 91 on sale now and mags are 20 rnd mags are German army surplus and crazy cheap. For hunting I found a 5 rnd mag so I didn' t scare fellow hunters

I have one of these in the camo on my 700-4, I can't say enough good things about it. I also recently installed a Kolpin floor mounted one for quick access while out actually hunting. I did a write up here on installing it, should be similar for the 1000. P700 - Kolpin UTV Gun Rack
