bigriver, have you considered the oldschool type mounts that lock into the rear window of a truck? would something like that possibly mount in the rear window of the middle panel?
sks....I think that it would be impractical to mount it on the inside due to the rear head rests. On the outside I have the rear panel and small sliding window which actually has glass just about all the way across the back.

Bigriver, zero problems overhead for me. Keep a rifle in it 24x7 and no close calls. nothing. I put a ratchet strap between the mounts to keep the roll bars from pushing out. Keeps the mounts very tight. Not sure understand your last question.
brd....what I was talking about really wouldn't make much sense, but to explain that awkward question...to mount the system in reverse so that the rifles are sitting above the fore and aft bars. I realize that it would be more time consuming to stow away the guns and probably wouldn't increase your head room by that much. Plus you wouldn't be clanking the barrels on the steel bars as much having it mounted the correct way.

This and the P-4 arrived just in time for opening gun season. Strapped it to the rear, behind rear seats . Not shown are two straps on each end. It worked great. It think taller people in front would bump heads on overhead rack. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001NHCFVQ/ref ... 1_ST1_dp_1
