Hey guys,
Looks like I will be getting a new truck. New one will be 6 ft 4 bed instead of 8 ft
I know Pioneer will fit but would like ideas how to do that and pull my 24th bumper pull camper. So what about hitch exteensions? Put hitch on back of camper and pull doubles?

I put the P-5 in the bed and pull trailers all the time. I've installed breakaway tongue jacks on all my trailers which is usually the only thing that gets close to the tailgate when it's down with standard tongue jacks.

I won't be able to test but I know the electric tongue jack will hit. But I am thinking the propane tanks will be too close.
With a breakaway jack on one side with a regular camper, will it still go up straight? I have those on my open trailers. But have never used on a box or camper trailer.

I'm not sure about that, I missed the part about camper trailer. I'd weld an extension on the trailer tongue.

Might have too. Sure don't want to. Not sure how well the extensions work for people that have slide in campers that overhang and pull trailers.
Looks like I will have around 8 weeks or so to figure something out.

I welded an extension of a 3x5 heavy (5/16") wall tubing in the center coming under the trailer and sticking 18" past the original tongue. Works great, although I can't use the load levellers with that mod. When I bought my 2015 HD 2500 Z-71, I bought a toy hauler, now there's no concerns.

I had a toy hauler until last fall! Shoot right!
Do you have a picture of that mod?

I'm in the same boat. Just bought a P5 and plan on taking it camping. I've searched online and read where some use a tailgate like this. I don't know if it's strong enough. Go industries painted v gate

That's a nice option as well! Looks strong, what's the manufacturers claims?

That is about the same length of tongue on my camper.
His set up looks like a lot of iron to remove when I got back home on Sunday evening.
It has to return to original "work" truck come Monday morning.

Look here. TNTTT.com TEARDROPS N TINY TRAILERS

There is a subforum about making your own trailers from enclosed trailers, been looking at making a toyhauler for about 10-15 k with all new parts. Instead of $60k plus for one with a garage the size I want AND $60k for an F450 to pull it.
