Hello, I'm CAPTDASH

New to Honda ATV/UTVs. I have had nothing but Honda motorcycles, off and on since 4 years old, but never owned a Honda ATV. I have always had Polaris ATVs. Since my last one, a 850XP Sportsman burned to the ground with me on it, I have decided to try out something I don't have to replace the belts in every 6 months. I recently bought a new 2016 Pioneer 1000-3.

I love it so far. I see there is a lot to learn about lifts, wheels, and offsets that I never had to deal with on Popos.

I want to run 28"-30" tires, preferably 14's with as little lift as possible.
What are your suggestions? Remember, I know nothing, so don't get to technical on me.

Here is a little info about me to begin with!
Honda SxS ownership : Yes
I have owned, or currently own the following: UTV, ATV
My off-road experience level is: Skilled
My favorite place to ride is: Hills-N-Hollers, Lumpkin, GA

Welcome to the forum! I work in Camilla Georgia sometimes a couple times per month. I work with Keystone as they are one of my customers.

Anyway, get the super ATV arched arms front and rear an you can run some of the smaller 30’s or anything shorter. The larger 30” tires like Roctanes may require a lift though. Most tires are measuring below the advertised height but some are true.

The 30” ITP EVOs are an inch short and will fit fine with out a lift.

I don't really know what happened. It had gotten so hot on the right side that it would blister your leg if you didn't wear boots and pants. No exhaust leak. Took it to dealer and they always told me the same thing, "Polaris' just get hot." It didn't used to get hot. I am wondering if I should follow up with Polaris. They obviously have multiple heating and electrical issues, any of which that can cause a fire.
About the time I hit this dirt road out of a pecan orchard, I think it blew up from heat and punctured the fuel tank. There was fuel and oil all over the ground, when I jumped off of it due to the smoke.

Nice to see some Georgia folks on here! Welcome from the tifton region .

Not too far from you in Camilla. What dealer do you use? I am not crazy about the dealer in Albany. I just don't trust them.

Damn...you are lucky! I would definitely follow up! You may just save someone’s life! Thanks for sharing! Look forward to more pics of a less serious nature from your rides and mods!
