In regards to some of the negative comments as to where I live

I think some of the commentors thought Baja California was in California.

That said, so many (true) stories about Mexico (cartels, government corruption, drugs, kidnapping, sex trafficking, murders, etc.) that they don't understand there are safe(r) parts of Mexico, as well.
