P1000 Honda Extended Warranty?

Do you think getting the extended warranty on the P1000 is a good decision? For those who have delt with Honda on other Honda products with the extended warranty, have you found them good to deal with or do they look for any excuse to disallow a claim? Are most people with the P1K buying the extended coverage?

I got the extended warranty for my P5 a couple of days before the 1 years warranty expired. The reason I did this was because these SXS Hondas are net to the market and I was not sure what might show up mechanically. My dealer also sold me the Honda extended warranty with a 20% discount.

Boy I sure did. It's been the only one I've ever done that with but the main reason was we got a five year extended so a total of 6 years for 700. If you think of that as a percentage on the whole vehicle it's less then 5%. I do trust it but for that money its piece of mind. I plan on going the distance with this one and we are hard on things.

My son and daughter in law negotiated the deal for our P1k5 in TX and I think they paid $700 for a 3 year extension for a total of 4 years. I guess we should have bargained a little harder on the warranty. They were asking $1000.

Mine wasn't through Honda it was through the insurance company that they offered and everything looked as good as the Honda but we'll see. For the money I sure say yes though. You'll feel safer! Honda warrentee is cheaper then most anyway. If I remember right 620 was the lowest they would go with Honda but yes you have to barter with them!

I bought the 3 year extended Honda Warranty for $620. This gives me a full 4 years. I have owned 3 Honda 4wheelers in the past and trust Honda, but this is a brand new model fresh on the market (within 6 months) and for that price, having a bumper to bumper warranty for 4 years is a no brainer. Can you get the warranty at any dealer because my local dealer quoted me over $1000 for 4 year which is high compared to others.

I believe you can but did you try to barter with them? They will charge as much as possible however it only costs 620

I got a full 5 year warranty from a non Honda company through dealer for $700. Dealer says they don't question any of the "iffy" repairs like Honda would and they do cover things Honda does not for regular everyday stuff

Tell them NO for anything more than $620. Some have even bought it for less including myself.
Then later, as in a few weeks, go back with $600 in hand ready to buy. They will sale!

I would never purchase an extended warranty on a Honda off road vehicle. It's just me and the reason I bought the Honda 1st released year or not. I have a couple and see no reason. I'll buy a 1000 in the near future and won't buy the warranty. You just never know. 3 extended warranty's at 625? No thanks, i'll make and pay for any of the repairs for any "warranty" claims I may need after the first year. If it has a bunch of problems during the initial warranty it's gonna find a new home.

I'm not sure I follow you, though I know you mean well and you're trying to save me money . But I don't have any problems paying $700 for a full 5 year warranty. $80 isn't worth the time or trouble to go through all that work.

The $620 is for 36 months, you don't think it's worth another $80 for two full years for a total of five year warranty??

I'm not normally an extended warranty man myself. But that's because they usually charge an exorbitant amount of money for it.

But for $700 for an additional four years it just makes total sense to me. And I would think an off-road vehicle is exactly the type vehicle you would want to get a warranty for considering the abuse

Paid $23,000 for this vehicle, another $700 for 4 additional years is a pretty wise investment to me

$700 for 5 years is not bad.

It's just some dealers try to sell it for the $1000+ because people are not aware.
