I bought the HONDA hard coat two piece opening windshield and have a question. My windshield seems very soft and scratches much easier than others I have had. Is there a way to tell marked on it somewhere to confirm that it is the hard coat?

It says it's a Honda "two piece hard coat". Mine is super hard and scratch free on the top piece but my lower piece is soft and full of scratches. It's upsetting that Honda called it a "two piece hard coat". Seems like a lie to me.

I called the dealer about it but they didn't offer anything. I may try again and if they don't do anything, I'll call Honda hot line. It's a freaking $550 windshield!

Where on the windshield does it say that? "two piece hard coat" I know that is what I paid for but need to know how to tell the difference.

The 'optical' windshield has black edge or borders on it. The hard cote dose not. Apparently they cant print stuff on the hard coat.

This is the ad on the Honda website. It says nothing about the bottom piece being standard and the upper being the only piece that's hard coat.

Here's a pic of both on the Honda website.

Mine has the black border on the lower like the ad shows for the hard coat. But I've got no border on the upper.

Here's the pic for the optical that shows the border on both pieces.

I have the same windscreen, my bottom scratched cleaning it with windex and blue soft paper towels. I expected both pieces to be hard coated, the add is misleading.

Same with mine, paper towels and Windex scratched the bottom section up. The top section remains scratch free. You do not always get what you pay for.

Try using Honda's cleaner/ polisher and a microfiber rag. That's what my dealer told me to use and it works great. Just installed the same exact 2 piece windshield today and cleaned it as above. The cleaner/ polisher comes in an aerosol can. I use it on the whole machine.
