A debate on which is more accurate for machine use tracking! Hours or Miles?

Lets say you drive fast. = Less hours, More miles.
How about you like to put put around. = More hours, Less miles.
And, what about those of you who left the key on.

I go by miles I change my oil about every 300 miles twice as much as i should and air filter fairly often. I think of it as cheap ins. Clean oil never hurt anything.

I did miles for the first service we ride some hard pack gravel roads but also ride some trails that are slow, for me if you average out the fast hard pack and the slow trails it's about the same so I go by miles.

I go by the wrench. Oil and filters are cheap IMO.

i go by wrench. my tracks throw everything off.speed is cut by a third so i don't bother trying to figure it out...i think in the end i'm changing oil way early, like a couple hundred miles early.i don't mind doing it a few times a year.

Probably should go by hours because regular weekend is slow trail but do go by mileage. Try to be around 300-4 for oil but doesn’t always work out.

Can you dual power the stinger ie....

Right now I powered the stinger after 2nd battery to power accessories through KEY ON.

If a ran a separate switched and fused line also to the power side of the stinger from the 2nd battery, could I then switch ON the accessories in the key off mode and not run up the hour meter?????

@ every 300-600 Miles because of where we ride being so slow and technical a 4hours of riding may only be 20-30miles. Usually give it a change after takeover since it’s 4-5 days of all day somewhat slow paced riding.

Probably not needed but the motor is the most difficult thing to get if you screw it up so some paranoid PM is insurance.

I always go by miles. My average speed is high from all my road miles, and it doesn't sit and idle. I never come close to the hour interval. I'd much rather spend money on oil and have peace of mind. And I'm loving the 1200 mile oil change interval. So much nicer than the 600 mile interval I dealt with on the 500! I was changing oil all the time!
