P1000 How to tell if Clutch update was done '17

I just purchased a new '17 1000 LE. The dealer said the clutch update was done. Based on past experience with this dealer I would feel better if I could confirm it in a way other than taking their word for it.

Is there a way to confirm whether this machine has had it done or not?

The clutch cover looks different and I would call another dealer and they can check the vin number it should tell if it's been updated and was the machine you bought new or used

Take the vin# to a different

Take the VIN number to a different dealer. It should be in the system if it was done, or check mfg. Date if it update is required.

Without a VIN check the bump on the cover is the only way to find out.

It's the only way I confirm if the update has been done before. I dont trust the report from Honda.

Would it be safe to assume that the '18 would have the update from the factory, or is this something I should check out before buying. Asking for a "friend" P.S. Don't tell my wife.

Tell your ‘friend ‘ they are good to go. The 18s are updated from the factory.

I will. He found a '18 non deluxe for a pretty good discount so he might have to bite the bullet and upgrade. His wife is actually on board with it but really like the blue of '17. I've (I mean, he) actually had the plastics in an online shopping cart ready to click the button. I just wanted to make sure the 18s have the updates.
