I made a pair out of eighth inch aluminum diamond plate. Mounted to the brackets that extend from frame. Welded brackets to the diamond plate, mounted with two bolts to bracket that extends from frame. Mounted lower to the lower bed step tube, put a nutsert in and bolted from bottom, so all plastic remains factory. Primed and bedlined them black so matches look of black plastic. Then i put rubber seal on top when bed is down it seals nice and tight. They work great.
You should make some more. I would be interested. How much would you have to have for them?

I was hoping these had more coverage for
the wheel wells & under the bed. These
are Ok, but I would like to be able to
minimize having to clean out all of the
mid underneath. I guess I will have to
put this on my list for this summer.

We have some thin UHMW at work,
so I will need to find a source, I suppose.

Later!

John

I agree. Unless I'm missing something (never claimed to be smart) but what the heck do those squares do anyways? Besides hold mud?
I was wondering the same thing I almost think they are designed to hold mud in that area and provide protection lol

I'm gonna invest in a full body rain suit just to clean out those squares lol. Cause water comes back on me every time I try to clean them.

I sprayed vinyl protectant everywhere and I mean everywhere on the unit before i even got it dirty and boy the mud just rinses right off no problem. I literally sprayed it everywhere and didn't wipe it at all except in the cab and on the outer plastics etc I figure do that once or twice a year

Yes but cant get them to load on this site, says there to big. When i figure out will post.

The trick I use is to email the photo to myself and in the attachment options select a lower resolution than actual size.

I tried Armour All.

I thought about using it liberally,
but I was afraid of it penetrating
into the master cylinder or electronics
so I just sprayed inside the fenders,
and under the bed. It did come pretty
clean with just a spray nozzle set to
jet. I pulled handfuls of dirt & mud
off with my hands, where I could.

I am thinking of making some liners
myself, but I think I will make them
to cover a lot of the area under the
bed & towards the center up front.
A flat plastic surface will be a lot
easier to clean the mud off of, rather
than all the features & protuberances
under there.

So, bdyman, what material did you
use, and where did you get it?

Great job.

John

I used alum diamond plate check my previous post. Have a body shop and aluminum welder. So not to bad to make. As for underside of box that will b easy to do , just like they did for bottom skid plate.

Ok. I didn't understand that they
were aluminum. I want to make
some out of roll goods semi
rigid plastic. I guess I'll stop
at lowes tonight to see if I
can find anything close.

Yours look great!

Well thank you sir. They work great, keeps the whole middle of machine so much cleaner, trans and motor area. Back of seat area, mud doesn't stack up on box foot step area. Definitely worth the effort to make. Honda should have had them right from factory, no doubt.

I cant say from experience, i think the mudbusters are just plain ugly. Ruin the look of the machine. I dont like the way they stick out. Just my opinion.

Also the mud busters make you drill thru the factory plastic by foot well to mount them. To me thats a big draw back. And the ugly fasteners sticking out.

I don't think they look that bad. I don't have screws coming thru the floorboard either.

I agree that just some inner fenders is all that needed unless you run bigger tires and a wider stance.

I had to find a way to stop this:
