Hello all, new to the club and have used a few good ideas for my pioneer. Haven't seen anything regarding dome lights, maybe I missed a thread? Was thinking of a rocker switch type setup, anyone have anything they have used and liked? Budget not really existant, but I know how these things are; it can get expensive quick. Wished the store had something, because I have purchased a couple items from it and love the quality and easy hook up, not really cool with butchering a new machine. Look forward to seeing any ideas, thanks!

LED light strips from Ttactor Supply.
You can get them in a variety of colors apparently I like blue..
They are approx. 10 inches in length 3/16 tall and 5/16 wide with 3M tape to attach.
Very similar to these.
Good luck.

We have thought about it and I personally have one on my machine.
But don't currently offer them in the store.
I think mine is way too bright so I want to wire in a resistor sometime.

I have 2 rock lights on the middle roll bar of my 1000-5. I definitely like this set up.

I like both ideas, where and or how did u bring the wire down to the power/switch, and is it branch and brush proof? Where we ride is not always set up for sxs, I'm not saying I just barrel through the woods; I've rode something for over 30 years ie bike quad, so have some sense to me lol just don't ask the wife

I'd suggest put it in wire loom and zip tie it along the inner side of the ROPS tube. That's what I did with speaker wires and rear lights. Or horizontally along the ROPS to the front, then down the ROPS A-pillar to the dash area.

All of my wiring is in flexible split loom. Driver side dome light wire goes to the passenger side on the roll bar and is kinda tucked in under the roof. All the wiring then goes down the front bar and into the hood. It should never get ripped off by branches

All of my wiring for the speakers, dome lights, back up light bar and ham radio power and antenna all run up tight to the ROPS and is double wrapped in 3m harness tape.
If it should get snagged then I have bigger issues to solve.

So I’m about to embark on a similar project. Purchase 8mm led tape lights (white) from Amazon and plan to affix to the roof with some sort of quick disconnect so I can remove the roof If I want to. I plan to do the wire loom down Rops as well. I also plan to put a very small strip of blue or green tape light above the dash on the roof run with a separate switch. The thought would be that I can run it as ambient light in the cockpit. If anyone has done this any opinion on blue or green light. I plan to test this before I mount it.

Of course I’ll take pic when I’m done.

I used these items and made 4 overhead dome lights. The lighting is perfect without being too bright. Also bought the 4 of the 2 wire plugs with pins from the club store so lights can be easily changed out. Wires run along ROPS under roof. All wired up to OTRATTW switch. I will post a couple of pics in the morning when I go out to the shop.

Obviously this is not as high of quality, but for those that want to go a less expensive and less work route. I bought this for $11 to "give it a whirl" 2 years ago. Cleaned area and stuck it inside the middle of the plastic roof. Still works great, still stuck in place and I am still on 1st set of batteries. The electronics part twists off (access to batteries) which I do before I spray it out. And I have a backup when this one dies.

Gives off plenty of light for my purposes...which is basically turning it on at the end of evening rides to make sure I'm not leaving anything in the seat or glove box.
