So every now and then I score a great deal at Tractor Supply store or LOWES. This time I was in the Williamsburg KY TSC store with the wife picking up cat & dog food on March 19th. The store clerks were wrestling a 60 gal DeWalt Air Compressor model DXCM603 near the front door, not a mark on it, tags (MSRP $999.99) still hanging. Store manager was there, said would you want this air compressor? You can have it for $100 to get it out of my way. He stated the customer returned it said motor shot sparks out when he hooked it up. Checkout kid said, quietly I think he just needed the money back. OK I'll take it, hoping it did work.

Just got around today to buying the plug and cord, screws inside switch box had not been touched to connect power line. Wired it up plugged it in, turned on the switch anticipating potential fireworks. Nope! Started right up and charged to 175 PSI just like it was supposed to. Major deal score!!!

I've been limping along last 8 years with a cheapo Craftsman 30 gal air compressor that overheats and shuts down every 2nd cycle if much air is needed. NOMO!!! 😁

@100Acre you were asking about a GPS mounting solution for the Pioneer 1000 in another thread (P500). Rather than derail it. Here is what I use, an aluminum 1" ball mount to the dash and tablet holder, a 2" short arm, and the ARKON TAB005KL tablet holder. This holds my Samsung Galaxy Tab S9FE 10.5" tablet running Lifetime Trail Maps software.

Note: The above tablet holder is adjustable and will fit everything from 7" to 11" tablet sizes with most rugged cases affixed.

Do you really need maps at this point? Whatever happened to that one guy that guided on his Rancher with like 60,000 miles and carried his gas in 2 liter bottles?

Land gets bought and sold around here and traditional trail overlays become obsolete as more and more access trails to the NCWMA system get posted private and are closed off. My maps are updated monthly with new and re-numbered trail and closed trails. It makes for a handy reference and GPS location for sending recovery services to assist the broken Polaris, Can-Am, and Kawasaki's out on the trails.

TWRA is in the process of marking over 200 miles of trails in the New River and Royal Blue units that had no official designation beyond old Brimstone trail numbers they connected to. They are about 80% done with this process and new signage goes up all the time. It helpful to give the correct trail number of the signs now posted to people who are lost in BFE.

Had a group from Wisconsin hire me to guide them to Brushy Mountain last weekend. Took them on the modified loop a handful of us ran on 3/23/24 plus added a few new sections. Was a good ride, with 600 miles on the new P1K now. I sure appreciate how quiet it rides and the versatility of the accessories I chose this time around.

So after a few rides, I forgot how much mud / muddy water is slung up on the rear portion around the roll bar and back window, literally my rear panel 6" in from each outer edge gets caked even with OEM tires (CIRCLED BELOW) I was super happy with the coverage the Mud Busters XL worked on my RMAX so ordered a set for the P1K.

Muddy area

Mud Busters arrived today. Should put a stop to the mess on the rear panel inside.

Really happy with the install process and how sturdy the hardware attached on the rear 4 pieces. This set is specifically for the 2022+ P1K and they were precision cut around every new change in plastic front and rear for a perfect fit.

Don't drop anything because there is zero extra hardware. Somewhere a 6mm ny-lock nut is hiding out with 37 10mm sockets in my shop. Was dark when finished so didn't take any pictures installed. will snap a few tomorrow and update.

Hey @JACKAL , I thought I saw your rig at the prison this past Saturday. My daughter and I rode over there from Windrock (trail 43 to Guillotine Ln) Thanks for sharing your build & adventures.

Chad
Yeah that place was hopping by 1pm, I bet there was 150 SXS there by the time we left Brushy about 2pm.

Did your doctor change your meds, what happened to Honda being so subpar to the blue belt bouncer?
Hey but seriously congratulations! It’s nice seeing you building up a Pioneer again! OG back in the house!

Shhh, we can talk about the past all we want, but it gets us nowhere. I'm surprised he went that route instead of a talon 4r though

Honda vs the rmax for a year or 2
Well I am fine with the Pioneer 1000, bought the RMAX4 for the wife's comfort as I have posted repeatedly. The RMAX4 does sit, ride, and have a nicer interior, but it better have for a $7k higher MSRP than a P1K5D.

So there is no apples to apples comparison to be made. I would pick the Honda with the DCT every time especially at thousands less in cost.
