Just a Good 'Ole Garand

Picked this one up late last year. DuPage stock & handguards, the metal (less stock hardware) is all Springfield Armory, 4-million series s/n puts the receiver at '52, barrel dated '53, no receivers made by SA in 53, so the barrel and receiver are probably original to each other. Released by the CMP May 10, 2018. Both bore and TE are 3, so barrel is mid-life.
Not fancy, but not chintzy either. Just a good, honest Garand. One day soon it will sit in an original period SA stock.

Nice! I bought a couple from the CMP back in the 90’s. I’m not sure but I think they were $265 at the time.

I also got an M1D for, I think it was, $600 that I gave to my dad.
