26" on either wheels. Some like the fat rears, others want same size for rotation. It's a preference thing.

@trigger you run the sandy trails in Michigan right?
What is your take on the fat rears?
Fat or Skinny?

Fat. You get more flotation. That was the reason that I switched out the fronts to 11's and it did even better through the sand. A little bit floaty in the turns but it was worth it to me not to struggle so bad in the sugar. Does better in deep snow too. Even now I'm running 10's on all four. The skinny's have a rounded top which makes them dig in, the fats are more squared off and ride on top.

Congrats on the new p500! The more I run it in auto the smoother the shifting gets.

We just bought a p5 yesterday after having ATVs all my life. I read a lot on this forum and seems to be a great machine from all the reviews. It will be used for some riding and he hunting. I’ve kind of learned how to shift smoother in manual, just seems noisy in the transmission. From the post I’ve read seems this is normal. We appreciate all the good info on this site.

Nice! Welcome here, and good luck with your P5. It’s a great little machine.

Thanks again for the welcomes and info. Noise seems to be getting better especially after installing the trigger shield. It makes a lot of difference in heat, noise, and dust. Looking at all the mods now. Trigger shield was first. Which I got top and windshield from dealer. I’d like to get someone for storage and to protect radiator. Also looking at tires. Torque locker sounds helpful too.

Congratulations on your P5. Have a 2017 with 5000 miles on it. Daily driver on the Paiute Trail. Some in the Forum have followed me. Lots of adds. On my 3 rd set of tires, running 25”. Tall enough. Had to replace all the skid plates after last winters riding in South Arizona trails! Went with Honda ones. Have glass windshield and an Ryfab box, winch ( used a bunch) and a speed knob(not ready for power steering yet). Watch the wide tracks of our bigger brothers on the trails! Need the heat shield and sound shield. Looking into that. Been riding Red since ‘79!

The P5 is not bashful about showing it’s underbelly....🤣

You’ll enjoy it. Now trying to figure out which mods you want.

The roof was thrown in on the purchase deal for free so that is already on its way. The other upgrades after riding with two buddies in their Rzr 1000’s would be:
1. Upgraded wheels and tires for a little more ground clearance
2. A windshield to stop all the dust and rocks
3. A winch... that’s not a top priority
4. MORE LIGHTS!!! definitely need a light bar of some sort as I could hardly see the trail ahead of me.
5. Ordered my trigger guard this morning.

I bought new rims and tires for mine. Kept the wheels at 12" and went with 27s. The extra sidewall gives a dramatic ride quality improvement. Great clearance, too.

Did you notice power loss or anything like that with your 27s?

Nothing significant. Used to take off sometimes in 2nd gear. Not so much now. Other than that I can't tell a difference. I'm thrilled with my set up!

EDIT: There are times when I climb a hill in first that I used to maybe do in 2nd gear. No biggie to me. The increase in capability way more than offsets any small decrease in power. 27s, Torq locker and power steering makes for a terrific experience. Worth it! (if you trail ride).

Roof, windshield, and Triggershield for me so far. Just wondering how bad boots are to get busted and radiator. Looked at tires and wheels. There is so many variations, I’m lost. I don’t think I want spacers, but not sure. What is the difference in 4+3,2+5,5+2. And the offsets. Thanks
