My prediction for the 4400 race..... One of the factory Can-Am Maverick R's built by CT Raceworks will be on the podium, if not the overall winner. With the way the course is laid out this year, with much less go fast desert sections than previous years, a small light car that is more nimble through the rocks will be the winning combo.

The internet will melt if a UTV ends up winning the 4400 class this year, and it will be glorious to watch.

My other prediction..... If a UTV wins KOH in 4400 this year, Dave Cole the owner of Ultra4 will make up some retarded rules in that class to stop it from ever happening again. 4400 is an "unlimited" class that only had 1 rule besides saftey: No Tire Balls. After Hunter Miller placed in the top 5 with his X3 on 35's in 2023 Ultra4 came out with a new rule for their "unlimited" class requiring a minimum of a 37" tire. None of the fullsize cars running 40s were thinking about switching to 35s, so why do you think that rule was made? 🤣

Kyle Cheney was the only factory sponsored Can Am guy to build a new car and run in 4400 on 37s at KOH last year, and he almost won the race. If they hadn't missed the electronic checkpoint and picked up a time penalty, the dude would have won the race.

Glad you found it, I didn't know where to look for that crash -

Proves you don't need to be a talented driver to race KOH, just deep pockets. Whiskey throttle much??? 😆

His shock tuner sucks. That car had zero suspension movements going over the rocks at the top and lifted a tire over the smallest stuff. Damn golf carts.....

Agreed on the CT Can-Am's.

Yep, sucked that they missed that checkpoint in 2024. Watching Healy make up all that ground and then breakdown with Chaney shoveling sand the last few miles with that broken shock was awesome.

Those cars are badass.

I happen to live near and know the Miller brothers and they have kept those new cars a secret for the better part of a year. Other than Hunter mentioning that they were building and testing new Maverick R's to race specifically in 4400 for 2025 not much other info was given by him or even available on social media. I don't think CT Raceworks even posted a picture of their new Mav R bare chassis up until a few months ago. The Miller's have always built their own cars, them switching to CT chassis says a lot about how good the CT stuff is these days.

Those new Pro R cars look really good out there. They’ve always looked pretty good in the desert though. Curious to see if anybody has an answer for Chaney or if he’ll make it 4 in a row

110 entries in the KoH Hammers UTV class…. 106 are either Can-am or Polaris

2 Kawasaki and 2 Yamaha

Qualifying starts today for the race Thursday

Good luck fellers!

I know nothing about KOH races, other than I've heard of them. I've enjoyed watching a bit of the UTV class today.
So, why no Hondas?

Some have tried in previous years and all have failed. Including a factory backed team lead by Jackson Racing who quickly pulled out of KOH style racing after a year or two when they realized that the Talon was the wrong tool for the job. They are great for desert and short course racing because of their lightweight design and DCT but horrible for any kind of rock sports like KOH. Even Raceco knows to stay away from KOH, and they build some ofvthe most bad ass Talon race cars on the planet.

Damn those Pro Rs were fast in qualifying! But that's just one lap, let's see how they hold up in a race full of endless beatings. I'm guessing they will do typical popo things and break before the finish.

Did anybody hear the announcers say that Cole Clarks single seat unlimited class Pro R is making 463hp to the wheels during his run? 😲

I mean they finished the first year out with both cars, that alone is a testament to how good they were out of the box.

Unlike some of these cars, the weren't crazy modified, I think one may have been running stock suspension components even.

It was neat to watch a teenager run the qual course in an Rmax.
The camera shots from the drones are really cool.

No way a single Talon ever raced KOH with any kind of stock suspension. You can look at the stock stuff wrong and bend something and it wouldn't survive qualifying in the rocks. 😆 The Proctor/Honda cars all had J-Sport billet racks, the million dollar heim joint suspension parts J-Sport sells and their close to $10k billet knuckles.

Look at the photos from the promos, the cars have stock rear knuckles with double shear brackets and the same 4+ link we have on our race car.

They didn't build crazy stuff for those cars and they made it. They were even using what appeared to be Honda plastic a-arm guards.

Not a single stock part on that rear suspension except maybe the knuckle.

Elon Musk Wins King of the Hammers!!!!! HA!

Sombody I know casually mentioned bolting a transfer case and 4 tires to a helicopter to "technically" fit the rules in unlimited 4400 and smoking everyone. The only issue is the FAA might have a problem with it flying low enough along the trails to have their race tracker pick up the electronic checkpoint signals. 🤣

CT 4400 cars looked good. I think if Chaney and Loren had run earlier in the day when Wolff did they'd have got him. He was definitely on a ripper. Super pumped for the race tomorrow!

Both the Miller brothers cars lost 4wd during qualifying. I haven't heard what broke yet, but luckily Chaney didn't have the same problem. Cody Miller still laid down an impressive lap for 2wd.

Fun fact... Only four 4400 cars were able to beat the fastest UTV qualifying time from yesterday and one of them is a UTV. So only 3 unlimited build cost, 900hp, 4400 purpose built cars were faster than $150,000 SxS's. Think about that for a second..... 😎
