I looked at one of those Roxor's just last weekend down where we were riding and was not impressed at all, for the money You would have in one of those You would be better off with an old jeep build,,,,,,,

How much where you was looking? Because I can get one under $15k so same as Pioneer

Notice I said west va. Those are the trails we ride. Some are right and slow going and yes, turbo is worthless there...turn right onto a different trail and you can hit 50 easily.

We have NO trails that 50mph is possible. Around here we call those dirt roads. We make fun of those that strictly run them showing off their high speed “technical” skills then can’t hit what we consider the lighter stuff because they are afraid of scratches or 10 point turns. Like I said turbo is totally useless in what I consider trails. They do make fast work of passing the motorhomes on the way into camp or parking lot race with kids around and have to be yelled at though.

I’ll agree with that right now. Wolverine was the first fully trail ready imho. Didn’t need anything to beat the hell out out, just had to buy a windshield (which got broken and gone long time ago). That machine was designed years ago. Gotta feeling their next attempt will kill it, they are pretty good at Sxs’s.
They missed it the first attempt with the X2 imho.

Someone had one at Hollerwood in Slade Ky. Area and He had the Diesel version I think He told a friend that it was over $20,000 but it looked flimsy to me and suspension was not there at all had leaf springs on the back by the time You made it what You wanted You would be in the hole, it would be worse than trying to turn a Pioneer into a sport machine

They tried to make it too old man wanting to only go hunting/fishing type machine. Original is just fun.
Still loving mine. The carnivores were a game changer. Would have loved the 850 in this machine but with the JBS clutching it gets it done.

The Honda turbo HP is rear wheel. The new RR is right at 150 hp rear wheel so basically they are the same power wise. The talon is a couple hundred pounds lighter than an x3 so it would be faster. The X3 RR is putting out 22 psi of boost to get there compared to 8 psi with the Talon.

Honda Talon Fuel and Liquid comes in at: 1556 LBS and 104HP (No Turbo)
The article I was reading stated that the turbo puts it at 149HP

Can Am X3 Fuel and Liquid comes in at: 1564 LBS and 193HP (Turbo)

Power weight ratio is what you are referring to and...
Talon stock comes in at: .067 HP/LB
Talon Turbo comes in at: .096 HP/LB
Can Am X3 comes in at: .123 HP/LB

So in fact the Can Am is 8lbs heavier and has 43 HP more and is faster even by the power weight ratio calculations.

If we want to discuss the reliability of the two that is a whole different conversation.

Canam and polaris normally show dry weight so add about 100# if thats the case. The last time I remember looking up the X3 it was about 1800 # dry.

Jackson has the rear wheel dyno graph on there site. Several have the RR rear wheel dyno charts. Pretty much the same power to the ground.

The entire point that got us here was that to get the power for the money the X3 X DS TURBO RR weighs 1501 and has 195 HP and Cost $25,000. The X3 X RC TURBO RR weighs 1811 lbs and 195HP and costs $30,000.

It will cost you $21,000 for the Talon (Non live spring) and an additional $6,000 for the Turbo from Jackson. Coming in at $27,000 and I don't think it is faster than the CAN-AM for less money. Durability may be a different thing, I love Honda but power/weight/money the Can-Am would be my sport machine.

Jacksons claim is 60% more HP which if you take a stock Talon and tack on the 60% to 104HP that brings it in at 166HP.

Please send me the link to the Dyno graph for the Talon I would like to look at it but can't seem to find it on Jacksons Website.

I’d still buy the KRX.

Do you need to carry extra fuel/how much? for 3-4 days or are distances too short/rough for needing extra fuel?

If on the trail for that long we udually run a detour to a gas station, have someone meet us, or make a run to trucks.

We rode from Caryville, TN to somewhere about 20-30 miles into Kentucky in October, I had 5gallons with me and shared it with another machine, and at one point we went by a gas station.
