Hi folks,

New P1000-3 EPS owner. Really enjoying the machine. Mine havethe stock steel wheels. I am thinking about changing to a different wheel and tire. I stumbled across threads where some are running light truck tires. Most of those are around a year old and I was curious about an update on those running the light truck tires.

Do you still like the tires? Would you go a different size or back to an ATV tire? Did you notice any power loss when adding a taller, heavier tire?

My use will be mostly around my orchards, open fields, pastures, paved and dirt roads, logging roads, and maintained trails. Not too much mud and no rocks.

I'm looking at 15x7 wheels since those and the 15 in light truck tires are more affordable. The 235/75r15 mud tires are as low as $83 a piece the 215/75r15 are around $115 a tire. There are far fewer 215/75r15 mud tires

Hoping to hear from @BWAF or @Cuoutdoors or @ BearWoods

Myself and both of my daughters are running lt truck tires, theirs are Goodyear Wranglers and mine is BFG ko2 all 235/75/15. I have about 6000 miles and mine and tires are still like new. I thing both of the girls have around 2k miles on theirs. We are well pleased with them, because most of our riding is dirt roads and light trials.

Welcome to the forum family! Love my LT's haven't had a single flat and I trail ride some nasty ungroomed trails plus dirt roads and chip and seal roads for over 1500 miles and doing great didn't notice any power loss but it does brake a little harder ! And they will ride a little firmer but not bad I run 9psi in front 11 psi rear and still use on farm . I set toe in to 3/16 drivers way better than factory. 235-75-15 are a tight fit but no rubbing on all factory set up I had to put one screw in interior fender to hold it back with full compression so it didn't rub .15 - 7 rims with 5 x2 offset is just right with 1" spacers in rear to keep front and rear same width. If money could have been unlimited I would have put satv arms on and 30-9.5 15 Lts on . For what you want probably don't need beadlock wheels that will save you more .Hope that helps if I didn't get them all answered if not feel free to ask again E74da72dfcfaee2b9d7988a36984bf3d one factory one lt C4e3264376830081e6fee8f10da79e26Last pic is 1500 miles 72ef49f150cc6573b9f09eac368de5487d51605363c194680a744a04f6fb14ea92f032414b2d56f9cd480372e8ec410851825113559e62f83789e3f358200a69C3a64dd1ce0dc785291223e9d78ea8dfEe057323b191de0cad3f5bc5b53aa320Ad3687d1414236063418e8c7d4de1e7cA01255443917589fbec6685710151674Fc809816856f2ed337daf469861627c6D9ae024e2e9e7d39bfd4a425f260802361d7f47bf7a3324d5d7455c161eefc2aF0c507d4c4c781241c6771ca16eee504422fc1ef6de6dce97769cd2103786590

Glad to hear ,that's what I'm hoping for figured buying rims would save me on tires with those miles that would be 3 sets of utv tires a least 2 , paid for rims already

Thanks for all of the info! Thanks for all of the pics. I've seen you post those in other threads, but I think there are few I haven't seen before.

I think I saw you post it before in another thread, but how tall are your tires at your current psi?

Running LT tires on sxs's and CT on the rear of motorcycles is getting more common. True you hear stories of the death and doom that will happen, but rarely, if any proof has been seen. I don't remember the size but I ran a car tire on the rear of my VTX 1800 and never had an issue. True it wasn't a sport tire, but it wasn't a sport bike. It was a 110 cubic inch recliner on wheels. Tire flexed well in the corners and held a good grip. If you don't do much trail riding, or ride in rocks or mud, I'd say go for it. They cost less, do a good job, and far outlast conventional tires the off road tire company's say you have to use. Just be ready for the ridicule from the purest's.
Kinda like trout fishing. My Dad and I used to tear up the rainbow trout when I was a kid with cheap spinning reels and either rooster tail's or velveeta cheese. We always got our limit in no time. But the guys with the special hat's, the hand tied flies, the special hemostat's, the custom nets, and the $500 dollar G. Loomis fly rod would say, "Well I guess you caught some...but you didn't do it right.

Yep that's true you will catch some crap but I've went everywhere that expensive utv tires went and sometimes in less tries!

Bwaf covered everything pretty well.
I have put LT tires on 2 different machines. They have been awesome and I've never had a flat. You aren't going to wear them out any time soon. I know after 2000 miles on the first machine they still looked brand new.

For the riding you describe they will be a perfect fit. They ride a little stiff in really rough areas but outside of that they are excellent.

I recommend the 235/75-15

I have the maxxis buckshot mudder II now and I love them. (Grey machine) They get around extremely well. 5e3b66f2c9f0d54fb50fcc56be5bde4aE3bd34278ed7c83125604bc7673568f023a1b7ed2562d393c4853f4893e26732D778ba7d9e4ebbc5d7ae1a82fc3b939c7597018df347f1edf50af0a72bce0e9aF98ba9f50c40d3d29d4e31429b490ee9

The boys have pretty well covered it for you. Your gona have LT tire overload:eek: lol. Seriously, you’ll like them. I have 30x9.5x15 LT M/T tires and really like them so far. The price was the main reason I took a chance on them and so far very happy. I have wheel spacers with forward arched arms. If you don’t have the arms I would still recommend some spacers to clear with turning. If you need some info on that we can help too. I bought some Beadlock wheels for mine as well.

$87.98 - Accelera M/T-01 LT235/75R-15 tires | Buy Accelera M/T-01 tires at SimpleTire

Just spotted these. Looks like a very similar tread pattern to the Cooper STT (original) I had on my truck. Loved those tires.

Everytime I get on this damn website it costs me money......

I looked at those pretty hard. This is going to sound...weird, but I didn't like the barbwire design on the sidewall. You can't see it in the link you posted, but if you do a google image search for accelera mt you will find some pics of the side wall. Other than that, I agree the tread pattern looks good. I would likely have ended the search with those if the barbwire wasn't there.

It looks like these Forceum MT-08s are the cheapest MT right now at $82ish each. My internet sleuthing found that these are made in Indonesia. They look decent, but I'm not sure if I want to go directly to the cheapest option. There is no sipping on the lugs, not that it matters much on a buggy. Forceum also has an MT-08 Plus that is an updated pattern, sipping, and side wall, but doesn't list it in a 235/75r15 on their website. I have seen a few listings on ebay and Amazon for the MT-08 Plus, but wondering if it will just be the regular tires. The few reviews I found for the regular MT-08s are decent. Other off brands like the Federals are rated better.
4 New Forceum M/T 08 LT235/75R15 Load C 6 Ply MT Mud Tires | eBay

I like the looks of these Thunderer MT tires. I think I read that these are a Cooper off brand? I believe I saw a thread that @Cuoutdoors ran these on his orange P1k.
4 New -Thunderer TRAC GRIP R408 MT LT235/75R15 235 75 15 2357515 8859105408134 | eBay

I like the Achilles Desert Hawk MT that @Remington is running, but haven't come across a deal around $400 for those. Same for the Federals and the other, better off brands. $400 isn't a hard stop for me, but I'm trying to feel better about buying new wheels and tires for a machine that has a perfectly good set already on it.

Another member on here probably summed it up best, just get the cheapest LT tire you like and don't over think it.

Thanks again for everyone's input. This is a very informative forum.

Yes this is true. I liked them. There is some debate on if they are off brand cooper but it doesn't really matter. You will find this same tread pattern with about 4 different names if you search the web long enough. They did very well. I do like the ones I have now a little better. I think they grip a little better but not a huge difference.

^^^ Yes this is what it comes down to. When you have it narrowed down to your top 4 they are probably all going to be about the same.

I meant to ask before, but which wheel spacers are you using?

Just to confirm, the 4/137 bolt pattern will work on our 4/136, correct? This is for your or anyone else. I know I've seen it stated that this is the case, but want to confirm.

Thanks!

I used 4-137 1 " from pure offroad. They where 80 buck I think people have use the 4-136 and work ok
