So I bought a 2016 P1000 via consignment auction last year for what I thought was a great deal. Got it home and noticed issues right away. The machine would start and drive, but initially wouldn't shift out of first gear. Replaced the O2 sensor and speed sensor, which got it to shift so I thought I was home free. Drove the unit roughly 2 miles to town and back with no issues but as I got home, my low oil pressure light came on. Based on my sensor issues, I initially thought the oil pressure sensor was bad but I connected an oil pressure gauge and indeed, my oil pressure is low. When cold, pressure starts at 85psi but as the units gets warm, the oil pressure slowed drops. light comes on at 25psi. Any ideas on where to start now?

Sorry to ask the obvious…but what’s the oil level, sitting, measured without screwing into the threads?

If I’m not mistaken, the oil light isn’t not pressure but level activated.

Shifting problems are often related to a weak battery.

Shifting problems could be from low oil as well. I know it's different than my Rincon (but similar) but one time the drain plug on my Rincon came loose. I was going up a long hill in WV and it started revving high and wouldn't shift. That's when I looked and seen it had lost a good amount of oil.

Oil level is full, I can share photo of dipstick if needed.

The battery is also brand new so not sure that is is either.

Does this machine have the clutch update?
Have you changed the oil yet? Or running it as it arrived to you?

The oil filters have springs retaining them, one may be missing.

Not sure on the clutch.

The oil has been changed after I got it by a local shop.
