FDR commissioned the Civilian Conservation Corp to build all manner of infrastructure across the country during the Great Depression as a means to both improve the lives of Americans and provide employment for some of those 25% of Americans that couldn’t find jobs and feed their families. Like the WPA, good sound programs.

I would doubt it across the Selway, that’s a very tight canyon and that bridge doesn’t look to me to be sufficiently structural for trains. Also, because the CCC was tax payer funded, it’s unlikely that they would be doing work that would be beneficial to a particular private industry.

Found these cool photos of camp F-192 which was established along the Red River just a few miles east of Elk City! Company 570 was stationed here, about 200 men. The CCC was operated under the jurisdiction of the US Army rather than creating another bureaucratic agency. Camps were modeled after army camps with barracks, kitchen, mess hall, recreational building, garage, supply houses and storage facility. This camp would have participated in the construction of the Montana road (MC). There were 15 such camps in the Lewiston district.

My sxs is licensed/tagged with turn signals and horn and full coverage insurance. So is the tiny trailer I’ll be towing.

Sometimes depending on weather and blowdowns, the corridor or parts of it may not be open until as late as August sometimes. This is what I've been told a couple of times. But I've never done it so whenever you choose to try and attempt it, I'm game!
Last year or the previous one part of the road had been washed out.

But this has been a dry year!

No worries , when we were out there the bears hunted in packs of three, one sow and two cubs, just don't get in-between them, one curious observation though, they don't chase bald men and women with light hair, they just chased men with a full head of hair and women that had dark hair, HA!

I have no secrets, can't you tell by the way I am HA! Took my buddies awhile to catch on, we would be talking and I would say something and they would say I going to tell Melissa, well a week or two later we would all be together and they would tell Melissa what I said, she would always reply, he told me that 8 weeks ago, no secretes between me and Melissa, I'm too stupid to keep up with lies! HA!
