Just a meat buck this year. Had fresh cougar prints in the snow and the deer were very alert and cautious. Modern firearm ends prior to the rut in Washington State and my target buck stayed nocturnal. I had many trail camera pictures, with only 1 during daylight hours. Hopefully, he will be around next year.
It is the Kolpin Tilt-N-Tote game loader. You can rotate the loader vertically and load the deer with the hand winch. Then you can rotate it horizontally and carry the deer back to camp. It is nice for solo retrieval of the deer. It attaches to a standard 2" inch receiver. Here is a link::
It works great if you are retrieving your deer by yourself. I did modify it a little so it sits a little higher off the receiver. I originally purchased it for using it with my ATV (which mounted differently) and my RAM truck. When I bought the Pioneer, I was able to use the same 2" receiver as used on the truck. However a large deer will still drag a little on the ground while in the vertical position. I didn't like this because I like to weigh the deer and I didn't want any part of it touching the ground. Therefore, I welded about a 10" extension to increase the height.
