Changing the air filter yesterday I noticed a lot of “wet” mud on the motor. No clue where it’s coming from. Haven’t done an oil change recently but still plenty of time till it’s due. Anyone run into the same thing?

Did you have anything in the bed that may have spilled on to it? Almost looks like chain saw bar oil fell on it.

Nothing in the bed, last few times using it I had the back seats up too.

Going by the laws of gravity you would think it would have come from the oil fill hole. But that cap is on tight, and the machine was never on a angle that should have caused that.

Gonna clean the area off tonight and keep an eye on it. Supposed to have a big ride at the end of the week. Hope this doesnt put a damper on anything.

How’s your oil level?

Once i get the air filter back assembled tonight ill run it and check it. I checked it cold and it was higher than the top line. Will check the DCT level as well once i can run it.

Make sure the dipstick is fully seated. Mine came back from the dealer the first time and they didnt get it threaded properly. It was blowing oil everywhere.
Or it could be they just poured oil everywhere when refilling it.

Any possibility the o-ring on fill plug is missing?
Pulled it off and it had a little dirt on the oring, but it was there. cleaned it up and put it back. Not really sure how the dirt got on it, I dont think I would have done that no matter how much liquid help i had

Checked that as well. Had issue with my 700 that the dipstick was cross-threaded and wouldn't fully seat. This one looked good.

Any updates?

I agree that it looks like it came from the oil fill hole. More than likely it was spilled when they filled it.

But just in case, there’s a wire that goes through a rubber grommet in this location that could leak.

Maybe there is a leak for the second gear lock out thingy? Put a screwdriver and a 10 mm socket on these to make sure they are tight

There is a o-ring in this location for the oil cooler. It could be a possible leak.

I still don’t see how these areas that I circled could be a possibility unless you were driving fast and there was airflow pushing it up higher.

I hope that's the fix too.
But there is too much around that boot compaired to the lockout screw.
Afraid thats going to be your issue.

Even then it’s a quick fix. Remove the cover, clean, and apply rtv. No big deal. It takes longer to remove the plastic and other crap.
