So its been a while since ive posted anything on here. We went riding this past weekend and ive had a little free time this week so i started a speaker rack build. Ive been collecting stuff to do the build for a while. I bought two 8" Hyphonics wakeboard tower speakers and a 500w bluetooth amp. I bought some 1-1/4" fence type pipe with a couple 1-1/4" 90° elbows. Its in no way, shape, or form, rollbar material. If i rolled it, it would probably all bend up and be garbage lol. I just roughed it all together today. Tomorrow ill smooth everyrhing out and paint it. I had to design it where my speakers would kinda be out of the water when im floating. They may dunk partially under sometimes but i aint worried. Also, most importantly, they dont hinder me when i reach into the cooler from the drivers seat for a frosty adult beverage lol. The amp will be mounted on a metal plate and brackets that will be welded to the rollcage behind my head. I aint got to that part yet though. Everybody likes pics so here is some from the beginning up to where ive got the speakers and l.e.d. whip mocked up on it. I hope yall enjoy!

So i messed with it a little more today. I sanded and smoothed it. I painted it gloss black but the paint is turning out crappy. Lots of orange peel. I dont know if its technique or the fact that it was an old can of paint i found in the shed. I think im gonna let it dry and sand down the orange peel and wipe it down with paint thinner or mineral spirits and try again another day. I didnt do any primer though or prep work, that could be the problem too lol. It does look decent though. I decided against welding brackets on the rollcage up behind my head to mount the amp to. Instead im mounting it behind the seat and in front of my frosty adult beverage cooler in a black and white tupperware container that will be siliconed water tight, Flux Capacitor style!! Whaaaat?!! Lol I think im even gonna get a red vinyl sticker made that says, ' Flux Capacitor' and put it on the tupperware lid. Hehehe Well heres some pics. I hope everybody is doing good.

I sanded the speaker tower bar thingy down today and cleaned it with acetone. Sprayed it again and theres no big difference. Its a little less orange peel i guess. I welded in a couple more pieces of flat stock in front of the frosty adult beverage cooler where im mounting the amp. Drilled mounting holes through the rubbermade box and through the flatstock. Mounted the amp in the box. Put the wakeboard speakers on. Put the l.e.d. whip on. Blah, blah, blah. I didnt wire anything. I gotta pick up some speaker wire sometime this week. Anyway, heres some pics.

Man ive about had my butt kicked just trying to fish the the wires through the tower rollbar thing that i built! Ive been messing with it a little everyday after work. It was easier to build the whole dang tower thing than to fish the wires through lol. The wakeboard speakers light up with l.e.d. lights built in so theres 4 wires per speaker plus the hot wire for the l.e.d. whip. Anyway, ill stuff the wires through the rollcage tube that comes down at an angle behind the seat tomorrow morning and drill holes in the side of the tupperware container and wire it all up. Heres a few pics of a very messy sxs lol.

Screw that! Never even considered doing that with any of my wiring. Much cleaner look and better protected your way but I'll stick to loom and zip ties.
Lol. Thats probably the last time i do that! I commit to silly ideas sometimes that become a pain in the neck!

Well i just came in from working on my sxs, my wifes sxs, and the toy trailer all day. We're going mudding tomorrow and i wanted my new set up to be ready. I actually forgot to take pics as aften as i normally do. I got a few though. Theres a pic of everything wired up in the tupperware box. The 2 switches on the side of the box power up the amp and turn the red l.e.d. lights on inside the speakers. The l.e.d. whip actually turns about a brazillion different colors with a bunch of different flash patterns and speeds, but im only interested in it staying on solid red. The whip has 3 buttons from the factory at the base that controls all that. It unscrews also for travel if you want. Not too bad for $50 i guess. I siliconed all the holes in the side of the rubbermade box where the wires go through, and also siliconed the lid on after i tested to make sure the music plays like it should. The zip ties around the box are just for overnight while the silicon dries. I snapped a pic of the wifes 700-4 to share just for the hell of it. Got everything washed and shined up just to go drop them in every mud hole we can find tomorrow. Well ive rattled on enough. Heres some pics. Enjoy!

I wish i had pics from us mudding yesterday, it was a blast. We went to a place called Hogwaller over in Palatka, Fl. Miles of trails and mud everywhere. We go there pretty often. At one point i was floating through a deep watery area and my music shut off. I thought, 'Damn my box is leaking' . When i got out of the water the music turned back on and i realized it was because the bluetooth signal cant travel through water. The box was under water so it wasnt getting signal from my phone, which was in the holder i built on my visor. Lol, sooooo, i will probably be moving the box and amp to the underside of the roof one of these days. Lol it never ends. Other than that ive noticed my 'song skip' button doesnt work anymore. I gotta skip songs by doing it on my phone screen. So i gotta check into that. I will pull the box lid off today to see if any water got in. Then clean off the old silicon and reseal it up. Other then that it sounded great. Btw, everytime we go riding i notice there are more and more pioneers out there! :)
