Yeah iv seen them go long like that but also the 700 doesnt have torque management. Wither it turns the tires or it doesnt. Sometimes that barely turning situations where the dct dethrottles and the auto 3 speed doesnt is the fine line on whether your going to pull a line out or keep going.

That’s true, I had my 700 in some rocks one time with the pedal to the floor and no turning of the tires. Didn’t bother it at all.

Been there several times in mud actually rocked the pedal a few times and got it moving.

That’s why I think if that rig just had two more lower gears it would be so much better. I hated to get rid of my 700, it was a great machine.

Id say 1 down 1 up. Make it do 50-55 and not on the rev limiter. Plus half the 1st gear and a set of 28s-29s would be perfect.

Honestly, a low range would be a game changer in the 700. You could then bump up the high range gearing a bit.

But...then i see the issues with reverse/low shift forks on "other" Honda SxS's and wonder if all those years of producing atvs without dual ranges means maybe Honda still has lessons to learn there.

So...at least 4 speeds with dual range and 26" or 27" stock, but like @Alan_Vander i DO NOT want the DCT. Keep the current auto-style and its magical, fool-proof properties that I'll happily trade a bit of quirkiness for. Another 5 HP wouldn't hurt, along with a lower roof. And move the pivot for the dump bed up so loads don't make it so damn hard to dump. Such a machine would surely rob sales from the 1000.

How about a 50 inch Talon with the P700 engine. That's what I would like to see.
That would be fun. But it would need a low/ high or higher diff gears. Needs to be able to run more than 50 cause it be considered a sport. I think the 520 motor and gear setup would be better straight off the new rubi since it already has high/low in it with 5 speed. As much as id like to see a small talon with 700 motor honda would just toss the same ole motor and trans setup in it . And to me as a sport model that would be trash.

The 700 is a very good machine, not a lot of extras but very dependable. In its current configuration, it still sells well but I still like the 1000 better, even with the DCT.

Two more gears, one higher, one lower, and add a turf mode. That'd be my recommendation in the Deluxe model
