Sorry for the crazy short notice.
Thought I would throw this up in case someone else is interested.
Thinking of going for a ride this Saturday at one of the 4 free state run trails.
I think it has like 8 or 10 miles of trail.
Not anything more than a postage stamp to ride on.

I keep seeing people say "but if you ride the trails forward then backwards its like double the distance".
Sure it is.
I complain but it is better than nothing (just).

Nothing formal, I'm shooting for mid morning.
When I get hot I will load up and come home.
If anyone is thinking they are interested shoot me a message.

FYI, I whent to take a look at the ODNR web site but they where hacked.
There temporary web site just has the pages where you pay money.
Oh well.

I would love to join you, but we are having a baby shower at the house that I can't get out of for my wife's niece.

We've ridden there several times and it's not bad. Smaller than Perry, but much better than Richland Furnace. There's more than 10 miles if you run all of them. They have a little play area at the one end as well. They are supposed to be almost doubling the size with land across the street. They're still trying to get approval for crossing the street, last I heard.

Why dose it not surprise me that the government spent our OHV registration money on land that the government has an issue giving permission for us to use.
I saw that on line but with the ODNR web site hack I can’t find any info .
Some of the news paper articles even mentioned camping.

So, I actually got up early and went riding.
The expansion seams to be almost done.
The new ride area is across the road from the old area.
There is a new staging area and a picnic shelter (closed for the Rona).
The map shows the new trails and there is a road crossing to get back and forth.

The new area is more densly packed with trails.
Some have excessive undulations probably from being recently cut in with a bulldozer.
It's not from the track but from the blade working up and down.
In the p500 above 15 mph the chattering was too much.

Also a good portion of the new area is just over grown brush.
Not supper interesting and a little warm today.
Trail pick of what I'm talking about:

But, over all it was a good days outing.
Got me out of the house and off my butt.
Spent about 3 1/2 hours there.
Chatted with a few people in the staging area.
Rode 25 miles.
Got a little dusty.

Parting shot, this is the tryical scenery of the Pike APV area.

And the map.
It is interesting in that they numbered the trail junctions, not the trails.

The new ride area is to the south of the road, State Route 124. (It's the triangley bit at the bottom)

And, the portion of the map showing the trails is much smaller than the page to emphasise how small a trail system it is.

I'm glad to hear that they have that side open now. I like the park for a fun day ride with less experienced riders. Perry is about the same distance for me, but inexperienced riders can get into trouble easily there. Perry is great on 2 wheels though.
