Do you find that the rig feels top-heavy at all with a spare tire up there? I am considering where to place mine.

NO....we have had it in some very interesting positions with no feeling of instability

I learned that there are TWO different thickness clamps in that size at the store, I went with the heavier of the two.

I saw this machine on the highway today, US-23 northbound being towed by a brown Chevy and a woman driving. Thought it looked like the ass end of a P5 when I was coming up on it but you don't see too many of them. Then I saw that seat in the back and thought 'hey, I've seen that rig before'.

Finished up my custom box today! Constructed out of 1” thick wood, 8” tall sides, and the exact shape of the rack. Sanded every square inch of it, including rounding off all the edges to give it a smooth look. Drilled pilot holes for every single screw to prevent splitting. Then for protection/durability I covered it with 3 coats of Rustoleum truck bed liner coating. Mounted it with 4 u-bolts. It was a fun project and couldn’t have pictured it turning out any better. The only thing left for it is a small diamond plate tool box that I have on order. Will post more pics when I install that.

Mine is just a TSC locking box like @trigger , it makes for a nice photo stand for wee munchkin folks like @CumminsPusher so's they can get a better angle while looking downhill at the tiny ant people down yonder in the valley ...it also makes for an extra place to store stuff on me long expeditions and great storage for rocks and fossils while out exploring.

It can hold 3 depending on how there chopped up! Lol Trigger the box is nice and lockable but I'm kinda short 5'8" and it's somewhat high. But it does carry a bunch
