P1000 Pre Filter

Looking for some ideas for a pre filter for my 1000 , I've seen a few that were thru hood , but i don't want to do that . Just trying to keep a clean look . The old OEM pre filter is worthless .

There are previous posts on this. Some used a rubber extender to move the filter up, center, and a few inches higher - since I'm in Nevada and unlikely to find a deep mud puddle (that's not already claimed by a half dozen ducks and other critters), I just put mine where it's convenient.

I used the lower radiator hose snorkel then attached a foam UNI 3" ID filter to the end of it.

Uni UP-4300ST Clamp On Dual Stage Air Filter 3" 76mm Straight Flange Air Filter | eBay

Durable urethane mounting flange for long life and better fit. Filter is 4-3/4" round x 5.25" long. Seamless design for maximum air flow.

A lot of auto parts places would probably have the pipe. I think it's only 4 or 5 inches long.

If anyone is interested in doing it the way @ToddACimer did it (his post), the link for the 3" tube is bad.
