I am actually pretty partial to the fish and game board and very hesitant of anyone that has a R,D, or I behind their name. Were pretty lucky here that so far we don't have those issues. Right now everyone has the same chance, without a bonus point system or such. The legislators are trying to change it though. They are trying to make the Fish & Game develop a bonus point system, allow the landowner to sale there Landowner tags and make a auction for some prize big game hunts. The F&G is asking for their first increase in revenue in 13 years, but the legis won't even give them a hearing without changing these rules. The F&G constituents (hunters) have spoken and we don't want these rules and would gladly take a few increase. I don't know if were are like all other states, but the F&G budget comes from hunters and sportsmen, and they receive $0 from the general state tax fund. But the legis haven't listened and were recently successful in removing 2 members of the committee and recently added 2 members they wanted. Hunting issues and the land transfer go hand in hand for me and are high on my radar. Like I said, I am pretty lucky, but my 6 and 3 year old sitting right beside me, might not be.@tjoreo interesting about hunting regs changing. Do you guys have issues with the Board of Game like we do here in AK? They're notorious for backing guides that take out big money non resident clients vs supporting residents (aside from native subsistence stuff) Not saying residents don't have fantastic opportunities, but several species and units your odds are immensely higher by paying big money to a guide.
