My new 2021 1000-5 Deluxe has a lot of play at the steering wheel. We've never been off road yet. It has been awkward since we got it.

Only affects models with Power Steering
Just dropped sometime this afternoon
No info on a fix or inspection just yet. Only mentions Steering Joint B in the title.
More information coming Friday September 4th. I will post any more information pertaining when it's available.

I have already experienced this on my pioneer. The bolts holding the clamps to the shafts in the steering system all needed tightening from time to time on my machine. i could see where this could be an issue if left unchecked. Maybe they'll just call us all back to the dealer for some loctite... LOL

They are cracked

I do not believe the part to be cracked, it appears to be a press formed part as a result you are seeing the lines of a folded part.
It is my belief that it is just loose and has moved down the splines a bit.

Are you sure those are cracks? It looks like the metal folds over there...

That's just the way they are made. The metal folds back around on itself, and I've never seen one that didn't have a bit of a seam in that area.

Yes, or used either.
Most dealers probably only have 2021 models around anyway. So it most likely won't affect to many sales.

A friend of mine just checked his 2020 pioneer 1000 with 533 miles and found both front inner tie rods have about 1/8" of movement. It's hard to feel thru the boot if it's tie rod movement or rack movement but it feels like tie rod play. I have not checked my pioneer yet.
