I hooked up a quad boss 3.5" flood light to my reverse switched power on my 1000-5. The light is mounted in the center of the body under the tailgate. I used a nutsert and single bolt of mounting the light. For anybody looking to do this it's easy with the reverse light harness from the p700. The harness is 08Z02-HL3-A00 from Honda. It hooks up to the green connector under the rear passenger floor on the backside of the engine. As wired the light comes on whenever the Pioneer is in reverse and the key is on.

I wanted to do this to my P500, but it was harder than this.

I like this mod. Will order harness.
Thanks!

I'm not much of a fan of cutting or splicing stock wiring harnesses. This was a cheap plug in solution so it made me happy.

I bought it sub harness just now. Gonna look for a back up light.

I see the license plate. Is your P1k5 street legal?

That's what I'm going to do to mine.

Yes I did. I used a 2 pin Deutsch DT06-2 which is what Quad boss sells their lights with.

Sweet!! Have you used the quadboss lights before?

I have not but I saw them in person and found them to be a high quality light both in light output and housing/harness quality. I always second guess buying something like lights online but holding them in my hand and powering them up at the store convinced me to buy them. I paid $38 each for a pair but I only used one for this project.

I know exactly what you mean.. I bought cheap Amazon lights for mine just because I don't know of a decent mid price unit.

I'm really considering this.

$320 is my hang up. I know it can be done cheaper, but this thing uses factory tail lights as blinkers. Pretty sweet. Made for P1k

Honda Pioneer 1000 Instructions
Mine uses stock lights as blinkers for 1/3 the price. Bought a cheap signal kit for 50 bucks off eBay and a powered tail light converter for another 50 bucks. For a horn I stole one off my evil stepsons Tacoma lol.
