I agree, it’s difficult to find. If I wasn’t in Central America I would go out in the shop and take a picture of it

I’ve been working, had to take a break.

It’s up in there.

See the positaps? From where mine are the connector is attached to the bottom side directly above them.

Yes I used positaps, yes there is a crimp splice on the wire, I could barely get them connected even taking the tire off, and I couldn’t get the crimp splice off.

I solder everything thing else.

One day when the connection is finally full of mud and corrosion and I’m tired of my backup lights flickering I’ll spend an hour and take the plastic off and solder it correctly.

Got em’ soldered in, I’m liking it.
The red doesn’t mess with your ability to see like the white did even as bright as they are.

The backup lights are way better with the camera there’s no hotspot in the middle that you can’t see anything in and I’m not gonna be blinding people unless they’re 2’ tall. So I only have to worry about @JTW ‘s midgets.

Sealed in epoxy on the backside so here’s hoping they stay fairly watertight.

Picked up this radio (UV-25X2) for $80, on Amazon warehouse deal. Had to move my Fire Extinguisher to mount it within reach.

I had a couple of 5Rs and using a good antenna they could pick up really well but didn't have the power to reach out at all. I also couldn't hear them when I was riding. This is MUCH louder and it has a speaker output.

This is actually a decently feature rich radio for the price. Have to see how well it works before final verdict.

With some of the HAM radios you can create "groups" so you're only hearing your group talk the radios will not acknowledge any other group codes. Some of the FRS radios will also do it.

I programmed it with all the public radio channels. I'll keep it on low power until I need to reach out and I can bump it up if need be.

It also lets you monitor 4 channels vs two on the UV-5R, which can come in handy on job sites for me.
@ohanacreek Can you post a pic of how you have the antenna mounted and maybe what mount and antenna you ordered? I remember looking at it at overland but can recall the type of mount

Finally got around to finishing the rewire, everything’s soldered and heatshrunk now and that gives me the warm and fuzzies.

Now it doesn’t look like a plate of spaghetti got thrown under the dash twice at 3am.

One of the two voltmeters with USB ports I had that fit a switch slot died after the Overland trip, so I picked this one up on Amazon and a hopefully more water resistant USB power port.

Wired the winch switch to cut power to both contactors front/rear and let me choose which winch the switch and the wireless remote controlled.

The battery tender connector I had just flopped around on the dash so I picked this up to replace it and I threw the old one onto the mower for the off season.

I have had a few close calls with rocks and stumps on night rides so I figured I’d throw some rock lights on it. I planned on 2 front/ 2 rear but it didn’t light up outside of and in front of the tire all that well so 4/4 it is.

Picked the red so it wouldn’t be as bad on my night vision.

Next project is hopefully adjusting the slack out of the steering rack.
