Well she’s buttoned up until I get more deliveries. Shocks are supposed to show up Friday just in time to get them on and half ass setup in time to ride sat.
I was going to get fancy with some Grade 8 Allen head bolts on each shackle mounts but Fastnal and McMaster Carr are PROUD of the Allen head bolts.
So I picked up some Grade5 bolts to supplement the two Grade 8 that are going through the back directly into the shackle mounts. The Grade 8 have a ¼” thick backer plate the Grade 5 do not just washers but I only had 2 Grade 8 and a backer plate with the tractor supply tie downs and they didn’t pull through so here’s hoping they don’t on these either. Either way they won’t rattle at all.
Got the brake lines secured and bled, the pedal does feel firmer but that could be a placebo since I’ve heard it’s firmer. I’ll know better once I’ve had some seat time this weekend. The lines are very nice and are by all account, well made, it did take a bit of adjusting on the front to make sure they cleared the front wheels but once everything was in place and secured down, there was plenty of clearance. I have the SATV a-arms so that is probably the issue and I should’ve told
@jak9922. Either way, I feel much better about them being braided since I have more than a few slices in the protective sheath on the front factory ones. The heavy cut brush I run through on occasion probably has something to do with that though.
