I wanted to free up the slam full “glove box” for stuff I could access while driving that could stay mostly clean and dry. Something more accessible than under the seat, but didn’t want to ratchet strap a box down every time I rode or have to raise the rear seat back to get to something in the rear passenger floorboard.

Feel free to steal my ideas/accessories and make them suit you. I’ve stolen a lot of ideas from other members for my second build, either exactly or changed a few details to suit me, and the main why I post everything I add is so people can re-steal the ideas.
I am a bag whore I have way too many bags now. But I can still appreachiate.

With ya, at this point I have a closet full of Pelican cases and dry bags

I used several on the Overland trip but this opens lengthwise and has straps

Well she’s buttoned up until I get more deliveries. Shocks are supposed to show up Friday just in time to get them on and half ass setup in time to ride sat.

I was going to get fancy with some Grade 8 Allen head bolts on each shackle mounts but Fastnal and McMaster Carr are PROUD of the Allen head bolts.

So I picked up some Grade5 bolts to supplement the two Grade 8 that are going through the back directly into the shackle mounts. The Grade 8 have a ¼” thick backer plate the Grade 5 do not just washers but I only had 2 Grade 8 and a backer plate with the tractor supply tie downs and they didn’t pull through so here’s hoping they don’t on these either. Either way they won’t rattle at all.

Got the brake lines secured and bled, the pedal does feel firmer but that could be a placebo since I’ve heard it’s firmer. I’ll know better once I’ve had some seat time this weekend. The lines are very nice and are by all account, well made, it did take a bit of adjusting on the front to make sure they cleared the front wheels but once everything was in place and secured down, there was plenty of clearance. I have the SATV a-arms so that is probably the issue and I should’ve told @jak9922. Either way, I feel much better about them being braided since I have more than a few slices in the protective sheath on the front factory ones. The heavy cut brush I run through on occasion probably has something to do with that though.

Can you tell I spend WAY too much time on their website? 170,000 psi tensile strength will be WAY more than you ever need.
Stay away from the Aluminum coated though. I found I would have to chase threads on it. Seemed to be way too thick to match a stock nut.

Well alright alright alright.
UPS dropped my Fox Shocks off earlier.

Ready to test these bad boys out tomorrow!

I set the ride height to be the same as factory.

@windrock your rig is about as heavy as mine how far did you have to set them?

Did they change the color of the canister on those? The graphics on mine are red vs the grey you have.

Started with fronts in 1.5 inches preload and rears in 1 inch preload. Added another .5 inch to drivers side for driver weigh and under seat battery. no sway bar

That’s about where mine are, I haven’t added pre-load to the drivers side yet. No chance to test them out till tomorrow.

I was reading your thread do you keep them on softest setting for the most part?

Yes on the softest setting for slow technical trails.

Med on fastest trails. Hard on jumps over 2’

I put a few miles on the shocks this past Sat, enough to tell a difference, they def don’t bottom out like the stockers the couple of times I hit a perpendicular rut in the trail.

I didn’t get a chance to mess with the settings most of what we rode was slower and technical so I left them on their softest setting. The few times I carried some speed into rough trail they soaked it up like a sponge it was impressive.

I’m think going to wait till my tires show up so I can set them up for a true 8Ply with say 10psi vs a 4ply 6 ply rated tire with 17psi. Unless someone has a better idea which I’m open to.
