Has anyone tried installing this superatv power steering kit 400w motor on the pioneer 1000-5? Ive got some 35" zillas coming and would like to have better than my 2016 power steering motor can do.
I see they make a kit for 1000 but with the smaller electric motor.
@SuperATV

Thanks

Brackets and wiring harness are very different.

Thank you for clarifying.
Sure would be nice if they would sell the brackets for the pioneer and the 400w motor with harnessing.

@SuperATV will chime in. He may have a solution for you!

Just spoke with a Trent at superatv and he spent some time with me on the phone to get me some stuff put together.
I went with the 600w universal kit and the driveshafts and brackets from the pioneer kit that I can fabricate off of.
I’ll keep everyone up to date on how it goes. Should really be impressive being 3 times powerful motor than what’s on my 16 pioneer.

Cool!! That's a powerful motor right there! You'll be able to turn the wheel with your pinky, and a drink in hand!

And good idea on bumping up the motor on the Pio 1k models. I'm seeing more and more with portals and big tires. I'll push to get a 400w unit in the works.

Sounds great!! Yes I think there would be a market for sure with as many as there are going bigger.
Thanks!!

Continued progress. Ran into a few small issues but nothing crazy. I got the upper steering shaft connected to motor and all is well.

The bottom shaft I tried to make work with what I had. I did press out u joint to get the bigger splined yoke to connect to output shaft of electric motor and assembled it to an accepting shaft going to weld it up tomorrow.

Well here it is Installed!! I did have to turn down the end of the universal kit shaft and weld the factory ujoint yoke to it I cut down to from end of yoke to end of yoke was 12.5 inches I also turned the shoulder off of the splined oem shaft and welded that into the universal kits shaft to give me some room to slip past its bolt keeper point to give enough room to where i can install without having to unbolt the steering motor or the rack and pinion. Works great!
Unreal how easy it is to turn these 32" tires at 5 pounds on concrete. ( waiting on the zillas 35" to come) hence this steering upgrade. Like Paul F explains it is for sure a 7 out of 10 on fabrication but not too crazy.

@PaulF when you tied into your oem dash light with relay and tied into your harness plug. Did you take out the Oem Ecu completely?

Thanks,
