I run 2WD on hard pack and 4WD in the sand washes and on steep hill climbs. I shift on the fly at low speeds. It won't shift out of 4WD if you have a load on it. The front dif clutch does the shifting. I have 39,000 nukes on my Talons with no problems. There is some noise in 4WD so I can tell if I'm in 4WD.
